I'm not sure why, but it seems my Derale has burnt out. The fuse looks fine (but I will try another just in case). The wiring has not changed. The 12V and ACC sources should still be working (12V from the battery, ACC from the wiper motor). I'm going to hardwire the fans to run constantly to verify that they work, but I doubt both would die at the same time.
Has anyone else had a problem with the Derale Controller?

I still haven't determined that the Derale was the point of failure. Its possible, though not likely, that both fans failed at the same time. I won't know until I try to hotwire the fans. Hopefully that will happen this evening, but its hard to say. I'm stuck in Nashville working LONG hours this week. ![]() |

My control box was located under the fuse box. I would not expect that to be exceptionally hot. It is away from the front turbo, and probably won't see as much heat soak as it would on the firewall. One would certainly think that under the fuse box would protect it from the very light rain the car has seen over the last two weeks. Although I have been drinving a hell of a lot lately (2,200 miles on 14 day, I still wouldn't expect a fan controller to die out after 3 months and under 5,000 miles.

Played around with things today. I replaced both the relay and the fuse and the derale still did not work. The fans work when directly connected to a 12V source, so I contacted Summit racing. The fan controller was 1.5 mons old, so I wasn't sure they would take it back. Fortunately, they wew very helpful and agreed to send out a new fan controller ASAP on Monday.
