it looks like I am missing the front turbo brace shown in the thread below 2nd and 3rd picture.

http://www.bobthegreat.com/pages/mycar/mods/turbo/

how many people have not used it and how important it it?

I'm assuming it is rather important, without it the only thing supporting your DP, O2 housing, turbo, and headers is the bolts on your head.

Now saying that, I have never noticed any pressure on the brace at all, my thoughts are it only comes into effect with flex.

I'd suggest picking one up, but I don't think it is detrimental.

I agree- when my car had 9b's I didn't have the brace on but I figured I should get one. When I swapped turbos I put one on the car. I can't really see where it made much differance except for peice of mind.

I don't have one on my car but I guess if it gives you piece of mind then go for it.

If I can find one in the process I will get it but I'm not going to let that hold me up.

Sounds like a good plan, thankfully it is something you can put on with just dropping the DP.

Yeah I have to get out in the freaken cold tomarrow and pull my intercooler pipeing and my intercoolers just so i can come up and help you. I better get some help on my tdo5 project . We will get it going this weekend man. We can work on it untill we run out of beer and sleep then go at it again. I just hope all the electrical stuff works out and you dont have any problems driving it. Did you make a pressure tester yet?
