SPEC clutch from 3sx......why do i need to hotwire the pump and get bigger injectors? TT's run 12 psi fine with the stockys, im only going to run 10 to race which is maybe once a month.....

Becuase you may get a good bit of detonation and blow your engine. Some guys can run 10psi on a 10:1 compression motor and have no problems, but another guy can do it and KABOOM, there goes your motor. TT's can run 12psi np, but they are running 8:1 compression, not 10:1. That makes a HUGE difference, even with just 2psi. If you want to go to the track and run say 10 or 12psi on your 10:1 motor, slap in 4 or 5 gallons of 112-116 leaded race gas. That will lower your detonation and your engine will be A LOT less prone to breaking. Either that or add some alcohol or propane injection.

hmm ..... peeps seem to be having different results.

With 360's and a hotwired walboro I can only run between 9 and 12 psi dependant on ambient temperature without knock (8:1 pistons in a N/A engine).

I'm sure I could push it higher and be fine but it is more than fast enough at 9 psi with 13g's.

91 octane is the highest available here. Are people really able to run more than 12 psi on the stock injectors and crap gas ?

12psi on 91 octane is about as high as you'd want to go. You really should upgrade your injectors though. It may be the cause of your knock. If you use a datalogger, you can find out whether your injectors are maxed out, I'm guessing that they are.

Isn't the elevation fairly high where you live? That probably affects things somehow as well. I have friends where I live that drive around everyday with their boost at 15 on 93 octane.. I believe that they turn it down to 12-13 when they only can get 91 octane.
