I had one of the first automatic TT conversions running. I belive Mikes95rt was the first one but his was just bolted on to the engine he never turned on the car or drove it, but I think I'm the first one to drive and have a running AT TT

i just ordered a vr4 engine. i'm doing a swap into my sl. i ordered the fuel pump, ecu, and wiring harness as well. but i don't know what to do about the transmission. i'm under the impression that an sl tranny is not gonna hold up to the 320 hp. any suggestions? i'm on a budget

I would say 80% of the conversions are using the stock tranny. Just get some sort of diff for it (wether an insert or a full diff) as that is the weak point in the tranny.

I should prpbably Add to my post, I have proven that with solid mounts and a Quiafe the FWD 5 spd can handle power (131MPH Traps 11.4 ETs)

Wheel hop KILLS tranny parts dead. Solid mounts (or at least poly ones) help this BIG TIME. REPLACE YOUR STOCK WORN MOUNTS. Maximal Performance mounts are so cheap it's stupid not to.

I should prpbably Add to my post, I have proven that with solid mounts and a Quiafe the FWD 5 spd can handle power (131MPH Traps 11.4 ETs) Wheel hop KILLS tranny parts dead. Solid mounts (or at least poly ones) help this BIG TIME. REPLACE YOUR STOCK WORN MOUNTS. Maximal Performance mounts are so cheap it's stupid not to.
