Sure. This is a thread that is worth it, as it lets people know who they can talk to about the conversion if they have questions.

Add me to the list of "in progress"

Collecting parts over the winter/spring, doing the project beginning of summer (only time I can have the car down that long..)

Am I the first doing it with a 98 SL?

Jeremy C- I would go back and update the In progress list and stuff- But alot if the info would be wrong because I'm sure some are on the completed list now. It's easier if the members just add their own names. And the sticky on this thread will get it updated quickly and correctly.

New members- to be added to the list just copy and paste the previous list and add your name under "Completed" or " In progress"--- Thanks

There is alot of FWD TT conversions not on the list yet Bro-- I wouldn't bet money on you being the first 98 SL just yet .

There are also people on that "in progress" list that have completely abandoned their project.

Since there are some people that haven't put their name on the list, shouldn't a new thread be started to grab their attention?

I thought we did away with the "in progress" list since most of the people on there (including myself) ended up abandoning ship.

I don't mind if we start a new list, but we would just be reusing the info here, and besides its abit for fun to be able to follow the chronology of this explosion of TT conversions/engine swaps. 15 months ago we had 8 people on the list! What does that tell you about the progress made since then in sharing information. Because without a doubt, its been the sharing of info that has allowed this to happen.

I definately disagree that "most" of the in progress people have abandoned their project, if that was the case we wouldn't have went from 8 to 50 in 15 months.

The intent of the "in progress" list is for people that are actually "in progress"... not just pondering doing it, or planning on maybe doing it. In progress to me means they have already invested enough in parts and planning that there's not much choice in turning back. I could be mistaken, but I thought this was posted somewhere in this thread.

There could be a good chance that you would be the first 98 SL. From what I could tell, mine which is a 1998 3000gt base, is the newest FWD 3S to be twin turbo'd, and also the newest to be converted from auto to manual.

We should make some sort of page where people can enter their info and edit it.
