The 1st gen ECU which a lot of us TT conversion guys use does not have a Fan controller within it. Where as the 2nd gen ECU does. So when switching over to a 1st gen ECU while having a 2nd gen harness the fans will not turn on.
The standalone gives a very simple fix to this problem that works great. ![]() -John

If you ae using your 1st gen ECU and radiator you will be fine without one. Your 1st Gen radiator has temp sensors screwed in the radiator.
