UPDATE 5

So this weekend was good and bad. First I started on the oil pan...got it all unbolted and could not get it to come off. RTV had it on there good. I bent the pan a little trying to get it off. I dont know weather to keep prying or try something else. (yes I made sure all the bolts were out). I just left it alone till next weekend when I get a wide prybar. So after I failed on the oil pan I said hey lets start on those turbos...bad idea. Bad luck sucks...as I was banging the exhaust side off of the 2nd turbo it caught at the end and I accidentally nicked off a corner of the compressor wheel. Great now I need a new wheel...anyone know if I need to get it balenced after I find someone to sell me a wheel?

So I put the turbos away for another day...same as the pan...great.
I took out my alternator then dropped the AC condensor to get to my oil housing. Replaced the TT one with the NA one...went smooth as butter. I bought a pretty sweet oil cooler from someone near me that had a 3k. Its silver...not sure what brand but I got steel braided lines with it. The lines where so long I mounted the cooler in the front...right in front of my AC cooler thingy. Its gonna look sweet with the bumper on. I got that all mounted in and ran the lines to the housing. I had to drill and tap the housing when I had to out to fin the AN fitting. Used the friendly bridgeport milling machine to do that. Face milled the holes again so that the o-rings sat nice and flat. Thats about all I did this weekend. I will be working on it again next weekend. Pics will come later.

again-anyone know if I need to get the 9B balenced after I find someone to sell me a wheel?

oh hell yes you will now need to have it balanced the only way that you can get around the turbo balance is to take it apart and put it back together the same way because it was balanced from the factory. now the new wheel is not balanced so it will need it.

UPDATE 6

I have been slacking on the updates lately. This weekend I mounted a sick front mount oil cooler. I was going to mount in on the side but the lines were so long I could mount it up front and still have slack. Im going to have to make it work. I think its going to look really cool.

After I did that I installed my oil housing. I had to drill and tap bigger holes for the AN fittings. Then I re-machined the surfaces at the same time I tapped them so that the O-ring sits flat on the surface.

Finally got my oil pan dropped after mangling the edge a bit. Im gonna have to find a way to bend it back flat. Also does anyone know where to mount the oil return bracket because the dipstick tube is in the way. I tried to modify my TT one onto my motor then I noticed the bolt holes were different...nice one Dave.

Got the TT water housing in. Was a pain but I got it. Does anyone have a diagram of which water lines go where? For the turbos...

Sweet header.

My car smells like old gross parts now...back is full of stuff too.

bad news... found some silver pieces of metal on the bottom of the oil pan. Not magnetic. I also so like a spot of gold looking oily goo in one spot. I dont know what to do now. I think im going to finish...drive till I spin a bearing then get a JDM motor.

Why did you go with those ss lines instead of ones you can cut to length? were they part of some kit?

Also, why did you have to retap your oil filter housing for the AN fittings? They make fittings that bolt right in

Since you have the oil pan off, try to wiggle the rods in all directions and check for play and report back. You can also cut your oil filter in half to inspect for bearing material. WHY would you want to spend a few thousand dollars later instead of spending a hundred now? (worse case a new crank/bearings would be 5-6 hundred now with a KNOWN good bottom end opposed to who knows how many miles GTO engine)
