Although I do not have an ATX cooler, I highly recommend using one. I plan to eventually install on, but I really don't drive my car hard enough or often enough to worry about it. A lot of DSMs use the same/similar transmissions. With minor upgrades, they can handle power fairly reliably. Quote:

Well - I don't have a TT, but I do have a SC ATX and I absolutely love it. As was said eailier its great drinking coffee and merging into traffic on a freeway.
I have the IPT Shift Kit and end clutch, SpeedFreak LSD insert, ATX cooler for tranny. My SC is certainly as fast as my VR4 when it was stock, perhaps slight faster as far as Butt Dyno goes. I have Water Alki injection, kept teh stock 210 injectors, but added a Throttle Body spacer and tapped it with 2 360 injectors which are tied to a Haltech F5 for supplemental injection. i.e. when on boost, it adds the extra fuel. Its running 6 psi right now, but the shift kit is what made all the difference in the world. The car really accelerates like a bat out of hell now and has strong hard shifts. I'd love to drive a TT ATX just for comparison sakes. FI in an ATX is very sweet!!! Good luck with your project. |

If you want a turbo AND MTX car, then you are better off buying a VR4. Unless your ATX car is in pristine condition, its really not worth converting both to manual and turbo. For first and early second gens, the cost of the parts is almost more than the difference in kbb value between the two. |
