T2 if I remember correctly I launch at around 4500?

The key to either is to roll out. Roll out...ROLL OUT of the hole. Once the car is rolling then drop the hammer. This works on FWD and AWD. Once the car is rolling you have taken up all the slack in the drivetrain. From engine to rubber.
This does two things. Lowers the shock to components and lowers the sudden shock of the tires to the ground.

Roll out of the hole...Riding the clutch. Not long and don't burn up the clutch. It's all VERY quick and if you didn't know I was doing it you wouldn't know from watching me launch. It all happens fast but smoothly.

It takes practice.

Other than that...torque steer on the FWD SUX. On T2 it's all I can do from walling it. Seriously. It was so bad that all the runs at the past NG were part and off throttle runs. No full throttle full passes. It kept veering for the wall hard.

T4 on the other hand I think I could steer down the track with 2 fingers on the wheel. I don't....but I think I could.

That is true... though all of the work was done at the shop, so on my part, I thought I was doing it right. I just didn't realize how messed up Speed Factor was. I know that 3SX won't call Ty out, they are too professional to do that- which is the right thing to do. However, I spent ~$15,000 with Ty and he gave me a pile of shit that 3SX had to spend some time sorting out.
I would have been much better off just abandoning ship and modding a vr4, but at the time I didn't understand the concept of "sunken cost" and when 3SX got it I was just too hard-headed to give up.

How much did it cost? A hell of a lot- between Speed Factor and 3SX, it cost close to one year of the average US annual salary for one person. But sans a tranny failure in the near future, I should be in good shape for a while.

Mike, I fear for your tranny. I've never seen a FWD tranny hold that much power for long.

I hear ya, Matt. I'm a little nervous too but I'm at the end of the budget for this thing for a while. When it goes out, it will be a forced upgrade. I'm going to be very carefull to limit the amount of shock I put on 1st and 2nd, and I'lll try not to chirp 3rd.
I'm also going to limit the exposure to real sticky tires to just a few pulls a month at Maple Grove.

See you Monday!

I think I'm still a bit fatter than you though. But some weight reduction may be in store down the road.

I'm glad to hear that you aren't running into too many problems with the power that you are putting down!!! How many miles, passes has it seen?

My friend Billy has been drag racing for longer than I have been alive (30+ years) , and he has given me some of the best car advice a guy could ask for over the years I have known him.

One of those was "KD, NOTHING BREAKS SHIT LIKE TRACTION and HORSEPOWER" .

So until you get your stuff running and you know for a fact it can handle what you are dishing out STAY AWAY FROM STICKY SITUATIONS. Like I said I cracked something in my FWD tranny 5 different times and I didn't have the power or torque you are dealing with as I was still NA.

Granny shift and don't worry about getting a good launch because most likely that is where it will happen.
