Default 92PearlTT's TT conversion.

Well I have been working on this for a while now, its been going slow cause I can only work on it during the weekends due to college. I was originally gonna do just a 10:1 conversion but I started having oil pressure issues so I figured I might as well tear it down and do it right the first time.

So I started the disassembly process and when I got down to the bearings sure enough 2 of them were worn down to the copper. Also I found out the my crank had a gouge in it so I had to replace that. I also ordered some CP pistons. I was going to use stock rods, but I was a little nervous about the quality of the rods I had. So I looked into getting a new stock set but I got some Pauter rods instead for cheaper. I then got the block bored out and all prepped. I also brought everything in and had it balanced. Here are some before and after pictures of the block.

Before:

After:

I got my intercoolers mounted, cutting the hole for the driver side turned out the be a pain cause I didn't have the correct tools. Also the jackass I bought the intercoolers from sent me a intercooler full of what looks to be bird food. So I have to see if I can get everything flushed out otherwise I am gonna have to buy some new ones.

I am also stripping as much stuff out of the engine bay while the engine is out. So far I have gotten rid of ac and components, cruise control, abs delete, vac reduction. I went to the dodge dealership to get brake lines and the prop valve. The idiot who worked there was getting mad at me because he couldn't figure out which numbers were for the correct lines. Then he told me to come look at the computer and pick them out my self and it wasn't my their fault if I ordered the wrong parts . So I kindly told him that I wasn't going to do his job for him and left. So now I am stuck with no brake lines. I think its looks much better with all of that stuff out of there. Still pretty dirty, I need to clean it and do some paint touch up.

Here is how it sits now. My torque wrench broke when I was torquing down one of the heads, so now I have to see if I can find one tomorrow.

Here are a few of the mods I will also be putting on in the process. I just want to get it up and running before winter so I can put a few miles on it. Then this winter I would like to either put 13t's or 14b's on and I will also be doing front mount (money permitting of course). I also have a few mods sitting around in the garage that I will probably throw in also. Then eventually the nitrous once everything is running well again.

I still need to get a few more parts, before I can put the engine in and start it up. Anybody have: a first gen rear pre cat, 1st gen tt oil pan, good condition knock sensor let me know. I hope to have it done by the end of the month. Well thats all I have for today more updates to come.

Vince

Vince - Looks like an awesome project. Glad to see you're not half-assing it like it's so temping to do (and I am guilty of with my own car). Should kick ass and take names when it's all back together! Boy is that shorty pretty!

Thanks man, I am really trying to not half ass this build hence the reason it has taken me over a year to get to this point. Ya I never thought a block could look so good lol.

I read that write up a while ago but I really have no use for adjustable brakes right now considering it won't be a road course car, but if thats what it comes down to I will do it. I wanted to punch the guy in the face. I went in there and he was just an ass from the start like he was mad I was making him work or something.

Haha thats funny. Your right I didn't open the link, but I do have all the part numbers written down and I even gave them to the guy. I think he just thought I had no clue what I was talking about.

I don't see how it would have been an issue?
Use caps, add them to the cart. Add tax, plus the fee of being a walking HIV and charge you.

Thanks, the ac took some serious consideration because it is usually humid as hell in Minnesota but my compressor squealed so bad there was no point in leaving it in.
