Default 500hp on FWD, pointless?

Its late and i'll make it quick. I have a FWD TT, i'm not sure if i should have big plans with it or not. Considering mom cars are packing 300 hp now, my fwd tt isn't so fast.

Would 500 or 600 hp on the a FWD get any traction in any gear? When does the hp on FWD TT cars become meaningless because of traction issues?

I have plans of getting a vr4 engine with 19T turbos but does the FWD drivetrain basically make it the same as cannons on a canoe?

I know anything can be done to any car with a certain amount of cash. I also know about T2, but thats obviously out of my ballpark. So be reasonable. Thanks

I'd say hit shooter83 up and get yourself a FWD-AWD conversion.

If you're gonna have that much hp on a FWD you're gonna be a danger to yourself and everyone else on the road.

Torque steer and a complete lack of traction. 500 fwhp on street tires is a fucking nightmare to drive with or without a LSD.

And BIG BALLER has got some hp believe me...GT42 with the works. Also, you if you go to Honda-tech and look at alot of those build threads you will see that the majority of those guys are pushing high 400's or low 500's on pump gas and street tires and are having a blast. It really depends on how you drive it dude. When I was running with 13T's I was EASILY pushing mid 300's and didn't have any traction problems at all really. The trick is that when your car is still going slow, ease into the pedal. If you hammer it then yea you are gonna spin your tires. Proper suspension, maximal solid motor mounts and wise driving can allow you to have a blast in FWD with higher amounts of hp. Don't listen to these dudes that the only way to do anything is to go AWD. Heck I am still FWD and I have a T70 turbo on my car shooting for low 500's.

AWD has its benefits but it has its drawbacks as well. Whenever you go to replace one tire on your car you have to replace all 4 or you will fry the VCU. In FWD or RWD application you can just replace the two fronts or the two rears when they get low and be good but that is not the case with AWD. I work at Discount Tire so I really do know what I am talking about with this. If the tire heights differ by more than 2/32 you are going to start to put some strain on the VCU. AWD is heavy and not the cheapest to maintain. On the plus side, you get gobs of traction.

Well even though high horsepower FWD can be eased into isn't that taking away some of the point of high hp. I mean if you have to ease into the gas you aren't using all the power so a less hp FWD can be just as fast if they are able to slam the throttle.
