your crazy to not be running an upgraded fuel pump. Make sure its hotwired. The car has a way to go before you work out all the kinks. Your on your way though.

Did you experience similar problems with your car at 6 psi and a stock fuel pump? Inquiring minds want to know.

I will get a walbro soon...my IAT's are like 107* at low rpms cruising...and like 100* on the gas hard...is that bad? Maybe high intake temps are causing more knock? i am using side mounts

Im a 8:1 direct swap. I did the swap at the same time as the fuel pump. I have 2 best friends that also own FWDTT's Chas-k and Shooter83 were all 8:1 swap and we all upgraded our pumps when we did our swaps.

Stock sidemounts are good till 400hp. It wouldnt be on my list of possible problems thats for sure.

Not guna lie your track times are right where they need to be for what you have set up. You just need to get rid of the Knock. First things you need to do is get fuel control & a fuel pump. Dont waste time getting these items since your a 10:1 swap you cant trust the Stock TT ecu, its programed for a 8:1 motor.

I should have clarified - I meant stock TT pump. That's what I upgraded to and I still have knock at WOT and my trims are all maxed at 139%. I'm assuming you mean you made a direct upgrade to a Walbro and bypassed the stock TT pump.

I can't promise you that it will get rid of your knock, we all run Walbro's and its a replacment for the stock fuel pump not really a bypass. ( fyi just incase u didnt realize).

Me and my friends have no worry about fuel pressure unless its a kinked fuel line or a collapsed fuel filter. etc etc.. I honestly would replace the stock TT/VR4 Fuel pump with a Supra pump(Quieter) or Walbro (Loud ass bastard) Both rated at the same flow levels. Its been highly recommended in the past and it still remains that way. I wouldnt waste another dollar it would be the next thing i do. That and for the OP some type of fuel control. SAFC2's are like 100$ on ebay now.

Bigtyla what type of fuel control are you using?

Seems I keep using the wrong terms to mislead you. I meant replacement, not a "bypass." I was always worried that going with a bigger pump would give me too much fuel, as the other conversions I have seen have used the stock TT pump with great results. I seemed to be the exception until recently with this post.

Right now I am simply using a stock TT ECU for the same reason as above. I've seen quite a few people use it without fuel control and they have not had problems with knock. So I've been avoiding fuel control, thinking that there must be something wrong with one or more of the facets of my conversion (ie leaking fuel pump, lack of fuel pressure, etc). However, you're steadily convincing me otherwise. A fuel controller may just be the next thing on my list.

You would think that a stock TT fuel pump would be fine with stock injectors and pressure but I am getting some knock also.

its all in the timing

your running boost plus high compression and the ecu is mapped for an 8:1 motor with boost. obviously the timing curves will be completely diffrent for both applications but for low boost (6-10psi) you should be ok as the knock sensor is doing its job. i honestly wouldn't worry if you see 3-4 counts and it tappers off. Your going to see knock in 5th gear as your putting the motor under a nice load at somewhat low rpms....... if i recall the stock tt ecu doesn't actually pull timing till about 5-6 counts or so (although ive heard 8 as well)

The ecu will advance until it sees knock then pull timing it repeats this process over and over unless its just REAL bad knock, then it will just yank all your timing.

As far as the stock fuel pump, your jsut running on barrowed time.... replace it. I ran 12 psi on a t67 in a 4g63 in my dodge colt on a STOCK 1.5 fuel pump for 2-3 pulls.....wasn't knocking, but honestly if your running your fuel system on the ragged edge its just a recipe for a blown motor.
