we understand that but that is not what we are talkinga bout on this thread. here we are talking pre IC and even pre turbo. this is about the air that is going into the turbo then through the piping then through teh IC then to teh TB.

very interested on results from this

+1. Very interested in this idea.

My DR650R setup is running at pretty much 110% (I'm using the vac. reservoir to hold the wastegates closed during boost) and I'm in for any method that'll squeeze more boost out of these turbos.

Keith how are thing coming along? How big of nozzles are you using to spray 100% meth into the compressor housing?

Still not done the injector holders yet but I`ve got some time over christmas to get it sorted.

I one of my jets is just after the rear turbo at the moment for pre IC chargecooling, seems to do the job and stops the IC heatsoaking. I did that due to the back turbo running hotter due to where it`s sited, also the metal pipe across the top of the engine bay is ideal for dispersing the spray.

I will be running a 0.3mm Aquamist jet in each turbo, only 80cc/min each to start with, if that goes well I may try jumping up to a 0.5mm jet in each and see how that fairs.

My son`s only 7 months old so car stuff is taking a back seat while I`m working, not enough hours in the day.. It will get done though and I`ll post up my findings.

I done it o add fuel on a 05 Kawasaki 636 turbo bike I build for the shop , we added methanol/water in to the turbocharger compressor inlet, We noticed that at 5psi with stock fuel system the air/fuel mixture wil go as high as 15:1 when we hit the methanol not only fuel mixture when down to 10:1 but we manage to drop air temperature from 48c to 17c at the intake.

Another inetresting thing we found was that before methanol we did not build any boost with out crating a load and we bearly got 2 psi on first gear at about 9000rpms , but with the methanol triggered we were able to build boost with out a load as much as 4psi with the bike standing and 7psi in first gear, so in my opinion we benefit awsome from spraying methanol into the turbos compressor inlet..

Just as a note ,u might wonder why did we sparyed it into the compressor housing instead of the plenum ,well we had no choise ,we had about 1 day to get he bike ready for some races and so we build a shop made methanol injection system using two low pressure 5 psi winshield wiper sprayer pumps in to a snow performance jet, so it was kind of exprimental yet it worked great for for us and it took a nitrous build Busa to take us by only 3 bike lenghts beacuse we burn our clutch.....

Good results on the Kawasaki!, done`t suppose you know the % water-methanol injected in relation to fuel flow?.

I`ve got the holders scribed up, just need to get busy with the die-grinder..

UHmm that could be eazy to figure it out , Im using one 625 ml/min but since im only pushing 5psi at the pumps then the flow will be roughly 114ml/min , I was using 70%meth/30%water but for the last races I used 100% methanol.

The flow of fuel is 53psi and The bike has 8 injectors primaries and secondaries not sure on the flow of each but stock they come with 115rwhp we boosted it u to 235rwhp....

Cheers, looks like it my 90cc/min jets should be well suited to start with.

If this works out well, I'm considering using either a second meth setup or a hobbs switch that would turn on the tiny pre-turbo injectors at/close to max boost.

One thing I'm curious about... Meth eats aluminum and our IC's are aluminum. Is this a reason to be concerned? Or is this risk, pretty much neglible so long as the meth is mixed with H20?

I`ve been running 70%meth 30% water through the ic for my rear turbo for a while now with no obvious effects, also the intake manifold doesn`t look like it`s been corroded by the methanol.

From what I`ve read it`s best to start injecting at lower boost pressures, I`m going to start a 9psi but may drop this to 6psi or even 3psi. Won`t know until I`ve done some testing.
