I heard that the new Diamantes and Eclipses use the 6g72 engine. Can anything be tranferred over to our engines to make better. Like MIVEC to get better gas mileage and more power at higher rpm's. Turbo or Not?

Should be possible, actually. The question is, do you have the skill to retrofit and control it? Mivec dohc 6gxx motors are out there, so its just a matter of time until someone tries it. Getting good cams for our motors are a #1 priority though I think

Tried to post this a while back, but didnt have enough threads of my own to post in advanced tech. What I got from posting this elsewhere led me to the answer that in australia, there are MIVEC 6G72s from their diamantes. Of course these are N/A engines though. So...the bigger question is, can the heads of these motors withstand forced induction (we're assuming to the max possible turbo size on a 3S) and what results will you get with these specific timing and compression ratios being thrown back and forth.
Pretty much everyone told me that it wouldn't be worth it, but it does open up new possibilities in tuning engine management |
