Let's try to keep things legal here and not making any illegal copies if you do purchase it.
Sorry, I didn't mean if I could have a copy of someone else's, I meant if someone else was able to do the ordering (and have gotten it) because I tried and couldn't - for the reasons mentioned.

Sorry about the misunderstanding - 25.00 isn't alot.

Wow that's pretty cheap if it does work.

The other cable with the grounded pin is for flashing EVO's.

Ahh ok.

Just realized last night, if this works, I need a laptop now I might have one laying around in a closet somewhere at my 'rents house. I know I used to use one for school, don't remember what happened to it.

There are two cables:
The EvoScan 1.4E USB OBDII DataLogger Cable
The EvoScan 1.3M USB OBDII Datalogger & ECUFlash Reprogramming Cable

BOTH have the PIN 1 grounded but you should get the 1.4E as our ECUs are not flashable.

There is a discussion on the possibility of flashing 98-99 ECUs but even if they were, there is no support and it would be useless since it would be limited to 98/99s which are the most rare VR4s so chances are we would have to start from scratch and would have next to no one to turn to for advice or map sharing so I'd take an AFC over flashing ECUs anyday.

I received my cable today. I am gonna try it over the week-end on my 99 VR-4 and I'll post results ASAP. Hopefully, I'll be able to see knock!!!!!!!

If it does show knock that will be the most groundbreaking advance for us OBD-II guys!

CAN'T WAIT FOR FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!

Reda.

I don't believe the current software shows knock. That's why Tommy is working with him on the beta

If they can reprogram 98/99 that will work great! Hopefully, they can. Also, please let me know how it goes for you since we both have that "rare" year.

FWIW: I ordered the 1.3M cable because it said (in the description) it did everything the 1.4E did plus be able to reprogram (which is currently limited to Evo's).
