If not, where do I plug it in? It's obviously not getting a response from my car when I plug it in.

When I select Hybrid DSM/3000gt/Eclipse I get some data. OBD2 is greyed out, with "Mitsubishi" it keeps reconnecting.

Works now.. I have to select "EFI" from the drop-down menu. Choosing "OBDII" does not work.

The small white plug is for the ECU writing port available in some cars such as the evo. The OBDII port is read only, but the small white one is writable.

It will work on your car. Tommy the tread starter has an 96 with a 95 build date also. I will read knock on Hybrids and OBOII cars. The more expensive cable are meant to reflash cars such as 98-99 Vr4's and 03-07 EVO's. Its has an extra pin for that on the cable not a huge price difference though.

Luckily I grabbed the cable when they were all the same price...

If your not a 97+ there really is no need for the reflasher cable, its still very unchartered territory, and until something solid happens, Im glad I have it just incase.

EvoScan StandAlone LCD DataScan Display v1.0 for 1994-2007 Mitsubishis
Now you can display your live vehicle parameters on your dashboard without a laptop, via the 16pin diagnostic connector and MUTII protocol. You can get the same display items as EvoScan. The dimensions of the display unit is 13cm by 5cm, and has a cable to plug into your diagnostic port. Default Parameters available are, RPM, Speed, Knock Sum, Coolant Temp, Battery, Air Flow Freq, Injector Pulse Width, Injector Duty Cycle, Ignition Timing, Throttle, O2 Sensors, Intake Temperature, ISC Step, Atmospheric Press, other parameters for your vehicle available on request. You will still want a Laptop for hardcore tuning, reflashing and datalogging, but this is great being able to monitor temperatures, o2 sensors, and knock data right on your dashboard. $279.00

Just making sure this is it for a 1996 built date 1995 3000GT VR-4. Does the cable it comes with replace the need for the 1.3U cable or do we have to buy that cable also and of course the software? Thanks in advance.

Just a display - The software is what matters. If you get the latest version then yes, you will display knock sum etc. Use the hybrid option for 94-96.
