Pulled all my `combs out tonight, spent 10 minutes with the MMCD logger/ wideband and E-manage and got it idling right, added +10% across the board which wasn`t far off at all!.

Had a couple of 2nd and 3rd gear pulls and the biggest difference i could feel was at 5000rpm, spool is better but the 9b`s don`t really have a problem there anyway. Definitely helps out at higher rpm and the boost seemed to hold slightly better to 7000, will have to do some logging to get solid numbers though.

My car`s a daily driver, I`m going to plug along and keep tuning it over the next week or two, if it remains nice and drivable without any fuse pulling etc this`ll be a very nice mod indeed!.

I have yet to see someone prove that removing the honeycombs creates more power from just the restriction.

There are about one thousand other things you can do to your 3000gt before you should be worried aobut hacking the MAS sensor.

ok ive done this mod... Car Idles perfectly but the datalog now reports my timing has moved significantly advanced and i think im missing alot of power I should be seeing from this.. While im not seeing any knock from this mod, my timing is back up in the 30s and 40s through out most of the power band!

I can post a datalog if anyone wants to see it but whats the answer to this?

What size injectors are you running? I believe the reason for this mod is to bring the timing back into a reasonable range on larger injectors.

550cc's, 13T turbos, very similar to several other setups through out this post... but I havent read much where people were talking about what this does to timing... One guy pointed out how he wonders how this mod makes the car faster when it pulls timing so much! I dont think he was ever answered... In anycase im in the same boat... the car runs great but I think its missing alot of power due to too much advanced timing.

Did you retune?

The lowered timing comes from the lowered correction values. Less correction would lead to timing closer to stock. What did you do with your correction values?

For example I was at -38 WOT and after doing this I was @ -28 or -29 to achieve the same .96/.97 on the o2's. Its been a while but doing that dropped the timing a few points in that area.

I retuned to -22 WOT.. That netted something around .93 - .95 on the O2's. Timing increased from 29 to 34 from 2600 RPMs to 6600 RPMs... No knock but still... I would expect to see lower timing numbers... This was on a 3rd gear pull... I have a 2nd gear pull where timing went from 30 up into the 40's. Think what ill try is -20 or so for WOT and richen it up some more.
