This thread has been great with the exception of that kind of energy IMO. The only difference between This thread and any other helpful idea/experience thread, is that a simple thing made a big differrence for someone... and others. It is Extemely easy to PROVE it to yourself if you would take half an hour doing something productive.

I'll do a before and after dyno post if you want to pay for the dyno time. should be 200-400 bucks.

What would happen if this kind of thing continued on this forum is that people would continue to find great tricks/tips/tweaks... and would keep them to themselves for fear/dread of having to take a bunch of crap. If you really feel SOOO strongly that someone is BSing, then simply unsubscribe yourself maybe after a first adult inquiry or two. But this mod is obviously working for some people, and hell, it took me far less time to TRY this mod then read this whole thread. Jeeez

I'm still trying to figure out why all the crap is being thrown around on this thread. Innovator for future reference, get a dyno sheet posted, that'll convince the masses. But I give you the benefit of the doubt about your findings.

I tried it, posted my results, it didn't work well for me. No big deal it took all of 1hr from start to finish. I'm sure my car may be in the minority, I can't run open air BOV cause it stalls, I can't even pull out the little air director thing from inside the intake without stalling issues. My car just doesn't like the MAF area F**ked with I guess.

Wow this went downhill real fast. How typical. Why can't we just discuss the mod, and address the problems/ positives with it?

How many ppl tried this and had it fail?
How many tried it and had success?

Personally, I believe *NOTHING* that you say. Explain how you say you ran a 11.89 @ 125? Hang on, lemme 0wn your ass with a friggin screen shot. Either your the worst fucking driver on the planet (125MPH trap) or you're just a plain fucking liar. What turbos was this run on? Stock 9bs? 13Gs? 15Gs? 17Gs? Or the IHI Ball Bearing Turbos?

Or was this on the turbos that had the recent dyno of "475 AWD HP and 468 torque at the same 17 PSI and 15G’s."

Your right, I don't have much to offer. I am trying to learn. I thought I made that completely clear in this thread. I try to fucking learn about this stuff. It's quite sad that I come here and get BS from you and others who can't simply explain or prove their mods/ways will BENEFIT others. It's people like YOU that make me wish I never bought my car. You fill the forum with your BS that you WONT and CANT backup. It's not my fault your a fucking waste of a mechanic that could benefit the 3/S owners in the area but they all fucking hate you.

Your right. This mod may have helped others, your attitude just plain sucks. So, why don't you take your "insanely fast 95 VR-4", along with your 9,000 FT2 mechanic complex, your brand-new z06 , your 11.89 @ 125MPH timeslip, your dyno, your BS Navy Seal title, up your ass!
I change turbos more than you change your underware. I have a shop remember?

You're such a looser asshole Shawn. You are hated on the APG forum, and now you are working on this forum as well. Unlike you, my car isn't a representation of my penis. I think it's all you have going for you.

Tell me, do you have any friends at all? You probably scare them away with your putrid breath. Even with my cold I was able to smell it.

All I'm trying to do is help people out, and I am selling absoultely NOTHING. This mod produces more HP, lower the timing slightly, and eliminates the need to buy a more expensive MAF to meter the air accurately....PERIOD.

All you do is cast negativity on everything.

ok i think its time 2 get this thread back on track:

let me just TRIPPLE check everything here:
1. remove the 2 side and bottom honeycombs.
2. add approximately 10% to the afc
3. raise the idle of the afc all the hell way to about +15% (even on 550's?)

this sound about right to you?
the reason i'm willing to try this mod is b/c w/ the new 550's my timing is in the 30-35's at WOT, and knock is WAYYYYYY up in the 28 counts, for all o2 readings..

btw, when i leaned out the fuel too much, i was hearing some weird grinding sounds coming from the engine... this normal?

Yeah, sounds right. +24% I needed for both my O2 sensors to cycle.

FYI I run 16 psi on 15G turbos on 93 octane. Zero knock in 1st gear. Knock count of 1-2 in 2nd gear. Never did a third gear run. Lucky for me I stop there. A cop car drove past me last night during my midnight tune.. Whew. Anyhow, I don't know why you would have so much knock. Turn the boost down a bit??

In case anyone is keeping track, you can sign me up on the "This mod is sucessful" list.

Does anyone want to buy my MAFT +LS6 MAF now?? PM me.

grinding scary scary... my timing was pretty low to start with.. usually in the high teens and low 20's on a WOT run.. knock is what is bugging me these days (before and after this mod) Seems I get it no matter what on a WOT run... I wonder if my vibrating driveshaft is the culprit??? I even turned the boost down to 10psi and still had it... maybe even noisy lifters?? I don't know man... but I certainly need a good tune on a dyno... I would like to install my propane kit first though since I will have to do it again when I do. I just want to make sure everything is fine now and of course have the fastest car possible within that safety margin

I had to run my idle at +23 to get it to cycle ... well, I am far from finished tuning so maybe that all ties in somewhere. Maybe I should take out my Intercoolers and soak them in deisel or something too. This mod is great fun though... I LOVE the free ones. This is similar to gutting the cats but without getting dirty
