Yanno, this thread brings an interesting thought to mind... What if we gutted the honeycomb completely and tuned the car even more richly that before? We would have more airflow and even lower timing advance...

I'd love to see the dyno curves too, but not because I don't believe the numbers. If you dynoed 475 AWHP on 15gs at 17psi you deserve some kind of recognition for having the highest dynoed HP from 15gs. Was this on race gas?

I also work on the government cars too, like ATF, FBI, etc. They know the deal. It's business and I'm not turning any away.

Thanx for the concern though...

While I don't see anything wrong with this mod - I'v been running around with no honeycomb for as long as I'v owned my car with no problems whatsoever. I can see no reason why this would actually prevent the timing from being advanced. The correction of the AFC itself does NOT advance timing. The ECU retards timing as it see's a higher karmen value from the MAS(indicating a higher boost), so when you use a negative correction on the AFC, the ecu "thinks" there is less airflow, and the timing is advanced. If removing the honeycomb causes the car to run leaner, then it also reduces the karmen value that the ecu see's. This will advance the timing exactly the same as correcting with the AFC.

Why can't you post a Dynosheet? It's been requested 209402494 times already.

My timing is most definately retarded more now than before, and the car spools faster, and is generally MUCH faster..

That is all.

much faster, better Dyno #'s and completely reversible... and pretty easy... I don't see why anyone wouldn't just TRY it. I'm going to after I put in my new battery.. like to do things one at a time... easier to diagnose new problems that way .. battery goes in tomorrow.. sweeeeet little thing Hawker Odyssey 925

how would this mod work on an n/a? if gutting the mas retards the timing, it'll be a good thing for my dry n.o.s. kit, won't it? my car runs very rich stock anyway, wouldn't removing some honeycomb lean it out. then i wouldn't have to adjust my s-afc so much.

I am not trying to be a pain but theres a lot of "claims" on the Internet. I am noticing more and more of them on this forum. Why can't people just display a dyno OR some more evidence that helps support the claim. A dyno sheet would be great here. Actually, a before and after would be better. For me to do something like that to my car, my justification needs to be stronger than "oh, this guy on 3SI said it works wonders." I need more than that
