Default Evoscan "No Response from Vehicle ECU"

I just got my Generic cable in from Evoscan today and all day today I've been trying to figure out why I get the message:

"Error: No Response from Vehicle ECU"

I have a 94 VR4.

I know that this issue has come up before for other people, with 3000GT's and with other cars. I scoured the internet for this error message and no possible solution has been able to help me get a response from the ECU.

I've made sure that I have all of the correct drivers installed. That I have the proper .net version installed. So far, I believe that I've done everything correctly that I can possibly do.

Has anyone had this issue and gotten past it?

Which connection type are you using? Hybrid or Mitsu?

You should be using Mitsu.

Also, which operating system are you using?

I believe you still need to make the cross over cable with the genic cable in order to work also.

Ah, so the Generic cable is similar to the Tactrix cable in that respect?

Yes minus the ability to flash ECU's.

I tried looking for the diagram to make the cross over cable but couldn't find it, can you link me to it?

No diagram needed. All you have to do is it switch pin 15 on your current cable to pin 1 on the crossover cable. All the other pins stays the same.

You can all of your supplies from Mouser Electronics - Electronic Component Distributor. 18 gauge wire is little to thick to use so 20 gauge wire should do the job to crimp or solder pins to the wires. Make sure the wire rated for at 10 amps and is STRANDED!

I talked to Harmish yesterday. He said that he found out (yesterday) that pin 1 and 4 aren't linked in the generic cables when they were supposed to be; that all you need to do for the generic (evoscan) cable is jumper them, either in the cable housing or behind the clip on the harness side.

I'm going to try it today.

If this is the case, and this is all it requires, all of his generic cables will be fixed before they are ordered.

those pins can be a pain to clamp and insert properly. if you don't want to deal with that, you can use an obd2 patch cable and chop it up

OBD2 Extension Cable - Car Plugs
