E85 is a dead end street. Its the talk on Capital Hill, why? Farm Subsidies. There is not enough farm land in this country to make enough E85 to supply the demand of fuel we use, let alone a need for 1/3 more.

The 3S is not a flex fuel vehicle, so you are killing your fuel system overtime running ethanol.

Run pump gas and -20 window-washer fluid all day long and make the power you would get with C116 race gas for way less. Can be done safely with water-methanol injection and our new IFS-10 injection failsafe.

Best regards,

Dan

great info from the 90s.

i used to feel the same but after some research and experience i feel differently as far as its use as a fuel. as for reliable supply...yes. something needs to be used other than food crop.

flex fuel vehicles have sensors and larger injectors/computer tuning to be able to switch between the 2 fuels. pretty much all fuel systems from the late 80s can handle alcohol containing fuels.

man you just dont listen or learn do you. DONT PUT E85 IN ANY CONCENTRATION IN YOUR CAR UNTIL YOU GET A LARGER FUEL SYSTEM AND A WAY TO BOTH TUNE AND MONITOR YOUR AFR PROPERLY!!!!!!!

They can handle some alcohol, but not straight E85. The materials used in the fuel system, Viaton and such, will not hold up to high concentrations of alcohol over time.

Yes one should ask if I am sure Viton is being used, since I did not even spell it correctly

You can read more on DuPont's website about the automotive use of Viton

http://www.dupontelastomers.com/Products/Viton/auto.asp

We source a pump for our water-meth system that has EPDM internals. Much more resistant to alcohols.

Well I don't have to read this whole thread to know this point was also missed

Our cars have what is called a wet pump. All the internals are exposed to the fuel. For gasoline that is not an issue since electrically it is considered an insulator. Ethanol is electrically conductive. So you can't use a wetpump or you are asking for problems.

all the e85 capable fords ive changed fuel pumps on also have wet pumps.

edit: this is going to be my last post in here until it gets technical again. i dont like arguing when ive seen first hand how something runs and there are countless evos and dsms running around her eon ethanol.

i also question your arguments based on E85 and ethanol as a fuel cutting into your business. im sorry.

ok, than my next question is:

if I'll go with SINGLE supra pump. with injectors should I use for e85? would 550cc be ok? or should I get 660cc? if I need 30% more fuel that I might run out of pump before injectors.
