You went WOT on your setup and you had .96V, so...

Base on what you said in your quote, what makes you think you need bigger injectors. I am not saying you don't (you definately do if your on stockers); I was curious what about your quote made you want to get bigger injectors.

We're discussing running E-85, which requires about 25-30% more volume fuel flow than on gasoline. He's got enough injector for gas, not enough for E-85.

It was just the quote he made and I wanted to know if the car was fuel cutting, or something else. I was just curious if the car felt different that was all..I shoulda just asked that instead...lol.

Probably not enough pump to start with if that hasn't been swapped out already. I don't think you can even hit enough airflow with stock turbos to hit fuel cut unless there's a boost leak somewhere. Honestly, I wouldn't even try to run E-85 on stock injectors/pump - there's just not enough headroom for the additional fuel volume needed at higher RPM. Maybe at stock boost levels, but if you are running that low of boost then there's no reason to go E-85 in the first place unless you can get it extremely cheaply somehow (at least 30% cheaper than gasoline).

ok, yeah.

I think I need bigger injectors because I'm running lean on e85 on stock ones at WOT. and pump also. or at least hotwire it.

I did not feel any diff on how my car was climbing those rpms on e85. but these is one thing (I don't think I have it when on regular fuel) I think I hit fuel cut when in first gear at about 3000rpm for about 1 sec or so.

other than that. if feels the same.

so you were running E85 on a stock fuel system?

poor engine. go back and read my posts on page 11 and rethink that.

poor engine? why?

I don't think that stock fuel system can't supply enough of e85 for normal driving. and logger didn't show anything really bad. yeas I was getting little bit of knock but nothing that looks scary. (besides 123% IDC)

That right there isn't a good sign.

Seriously do it right and stop experimenting on the stock fuel system. At some point it'll cost you a motor. Besides, you should be adding in timing for E-85, and running that high of IDC is greatly reducing your timing advance. At least get a good fuel pump and some 550's and some sort of fuel controller before playing with this more.

Sorry I don't have time to read though this entire thread and apologize if this was already covered.

E85 is a dead end street. Its the talk on Capital Hill, why? Farm Subsidies. There is not enough farm land in this country to make enough E85 to supply the demand of fuel we use, let alone a need for 1/3 more.

The 3S is not a flex fuel vehicle, so you are killing your fuel system overtime running ethanol.

Run pump gas and -20 window-washer fluid all day long and make the power you would get with C116 race gas for way less. Can be done safely with water-methanol injection and our new IFS-10 injection failsafe.

Best regards,

Dan

I know its not a good sign. same as knock. but its not like we all drive WOT all the time. I don't. especially right now.

and I put e85 only with some other fuel (50/50 or so) 93 or 91.
