Default camshaft design

i am hoping to compile a ton of information on camshaft design here. from duration/ lift to lobe separation angle(overlap) flat tappet vs hydraulic. the whole nine.

as far as cams are concerned i really dont know a whole lot. i know the smaller the LSA, the lopier the idle. in our cars a longer duration is the equivalent of tighter lsa due to the multiple cam design.

i also know that the more extreme the grind, the higher you must rev the motor to reach the power.

but theres a ton more info out there. hopefully this thread will bring to light the art that is camshaft design
