yes, propane is explosive. they make grills that run off propane. when ignited, propane expands roughly 250 times it's size in liquid form. i remember quite a while ago, roughly 10 years, there was a scare in columbus ohio. a propane filling station caught fire, and a couple of small tanks (~50 gallon) exploded. there were two very large tanks about a hundred feet or so from the fire. there were some fire trucks spraying those tanks with water so that they wouldn't explode. they had to remove everyone within a mile radius from those tanks, because if they did go, it was expected to level 1/4 mile radius or so. luckily they didn't go off.

that being said, if i ever upgrade turbos and fuel system and such, i'll likely be putting a propane system in my car

Apples to oranges here, that's like saying, well I've had a propane grill for a dozen years and it's never grenaded so it will be perfectly alright in my car.

I'm by no means saying that your car is going to explode if you use propane injection, I'm just saying you damn well better install it correctly and not cut any corners or ghetto rig it!!!

how can you ghetto rig it?!?!??!??! It's one line that runs into the engine bay with the correct fuel line and fittings and clamps.

note you said correct fittings. I'm saying don't go buy a propane tank and 10 ft of vacuum hose and duct tape it together

Propane Experience.

I have no idea how much propane i'm injecting becuase of the nature of IPO's kit but here are my real life numbers.

DR500s at 17.8 PSI on Shell 93 at 11.5 A/F = 890ºc EGT (front) and 404awhp

add Propane (1/2 turn on IPOs kit at 80psi) = 830°c EGT, 10.7A/F and 397awhp.

Also 1/4 tank of 93 and 5 gallons of 110 net me the same timing numbers at 19psi as the 1/2 turn of propane and pure 93. But my EGTs are about 20°C lower with propane.
