Default Tire Recommendations

I am looking to get some new tires for my 92 Vr-4. I know there are tons of threads on every tire but not to many of them are recent and I want the latest opinion on different tires choices.

Right now I have a set of Kuhmo Esta Supras on the car and to put it bluntly I hate them. They are loud, obnoxious, the pull in road ruts, and are louder than the tires on my dad's old full size Blazer. The only plus side I can see to them is A) they are cheep and B) They did hold their own on the drag strip and autocross at NG last year.

Here is what I am looking for: I am looking to spend about $150/tire and the most important thing to me is how they ride. I want a tire that rides nicely. I just put a set of Michelin Energy MXV4's on my Honda Accord and I love them. The car feels like a brand new car with just putting on a decent set of tires. I know these are two completely different cars but that is kinda what I am going for. I also would like the tires to be decently quiet. I don't really care about how long they last because I only put about 2k miles on the car every year anyways so if this tire lasts <20k miles that is still like 10 years for me.

Here is what I am looking at...

Pirelli Zero Nero N&S's
Toyo Proxey 4's

I was considering something from Bridgestone but I have been told they are a little nosier then the two above. Does anyone have any other suggestions or comments? Thanks.

Jason

245/40/18 Nitto NT555 is what I run. $135/pop on www.discounttiredirect.com w/ free shipping. Can beat it for the price, imo.

Yuck, toyo's are garbage.

what size are you looking for? there could be a big difference between oem 17" size, and wider 18"

245/45/17

I have heard a lot of good things about toyos. I didn't have a particular Bridgestone just I had them priced at a Bridgestone place before.

I HIGHLY recommend Avon Tech tires. Either summer tires or all seasons. Best tire I ever purchased.

Ok thanks for all the input. I now have it narrowed to three choicse.

The Toyo proxey 4's
The Perelli Pzeros's
and the Bridgestone Pole Positions.

Has anyone ran any of these particular tires or close to them?

Thanks

I would recommend the Bridgestones out of those.

I had toyo proxy 4's and they were absolute garbage. Haven't used a set of Pzeros.

I am currently riding on the Nexen N3000 tires that came with my new wheels. I had never heard of them but so far am impressed. They grip pretty well. Just another option to compare I guess. BFGoodrich G-Forces are pretty good as well.
