Default Strut bar installed and hood won't close

I have an Ultimate Performance solid strut bar which I installed on my 93 VR-4 but now my hood won't close. It's touching on the passenger side by the battery and I can only get it to catch the latch but it won't close all the way.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a secret to get this thing on? It clears everything else alright but closing the hood is kind of important to me.

I posted in Ultimate's forum as well but I haven't gotten a response:
Front Strut bar on 93 doesn't clear hood

Hmm, are they tightened down all the way, I know Mine flexed quite a bit when I was putting them on (especially the rear) other than that I dont really know, they are pretty simple

ya that's what I thought too. I tightened it down as tight as it would go and it was very solid on there.

Pics would really help a lot. Can't offer much advice without seeing it.

of course pics are required. I thought perhaps there was a well known install secret that I was unaware of. Anyways I'll get some pics tomorrow and post.

Thanks!

I have the same problem with my 93. It hits the support structure of the hood. I don't see a fix for it unless we cut out part of the support or buy a CF or fiberglass hood that has more underhood clearance.

Lightbulb Re: Strut bar installed and hood won't close

Slide afew washers b/w the hood and the hinges to see if you can raise it abit to clear the extra space towards the back.
