Default replacing struts with ECS or not?

Hello all, this is my first real post on this forum. I just purchased a 1991 3000gt SL yesterday for 1000 dollars. It's been sitting for probably two years.

I'm pretty sure that the right front strut is completely shot because it violently shakes the whole car when going over bumps, rough road, etc.

I'm wondering whether to replace both struts with OEM ECS struts, get the KYB replacement struts without ECS, or just get some more performance struts/shocks. what I'm trying to ask is, how big of a difference does ECS make and how big of a difference do performance struts make.

going to be mostly road driven, but I have a heavy foot and like to have my fun :P

Thank You
Philis diller

I can not compare to any alternatives, but I like the ECS struts. . . I recently had to replace mine and went with these again. I like option to change from softer for most driving, or firm for the track/spirited-driving.

ECS struts will have a wiring harness attached to the top post. (hopefully that answers your question, I am not familiar with '95)

Thanks a lot 3sfever!
hey just wondering where did you end up getting yours?
I found some on 3sx for 164 per strut. I could get a pair of used struts for about 100 on ebay but i'll probably end up getting them new

Cherryhillmitsubishi.com (click on parts) sells each strut for around $130 each. I also personally enjoy the ability to switch back and forth between Sport and Tour. If you're going as far as replacing your struts- now is the perfect time to lower your car with a set of springs. Good luck!

Yeah that seems like the best deal I've seen so far. I'll definitely be picking

mine up from there.

I was looking into lowering springs and I found the intrax springs. Those seem

pretty good. I'll do a search right now on them but just wondering if theres

anything better for the price or if those are good.

I remember it was a close decision between Cherry Hill and IPS IPS Motorsports. . . . I think I went with Cherry Hill because there was some other OEM stuff I needed, that IPS did not list.

Struts = $144 at IPS, shipped. This might be similar total cost to Cherry Hill.
