Same question here. How hard was it to polish the lip, or did you have it done? If you had it done, how much did it run? Beautiful car BTW! Love the wing. ![]()

Unfortuately, 5Zigen doesn't offer the black with polished lips in 18in yet. I liked them so much, I made some myself. I started with 18X8.5's in Titanium and sandblasted the finish off the front, polished the lips and powder coated the spokes gunmetal. A friend of mine has all the equipment, including the oven. These where the first parts I've coated and they turned out nice. Next I'm gonna start in on stuff under the hood (upper intake, rad mounts, etc.)
As for the hood bra, the area I live in is experiencing rapid growth and there is construction everywhere. Gravel trucks and construction equipment leave crap all over the roads and the bra helps keep the hood looking better. Yes, It's a GT Pro Pure Form CF rear wing on a Stealth hatch. Polishing aluminum is not very hard if you have the tools and time. The aluminum was already pretty smooth from the manufactuer and the sandblasting. A bench grinder with polishing wheels and some rougue finished up the shine. An extra person really helped by helping to hold the wheel while on the buffer. I'd say it took about 2 hours per wheel to polish the lips. It could be done by hand, but would take more time and sweat.

Sounds good then, glad you saw my post...having to pick from a 35 tire was really limiting my options and draining my bank account. I found a great set of Pilot A/S tires (40's) with a tread wear of 420....lol...go figure...but those should last me a good while plus I'll be paying -300 for them as opposed to any of the 35 tires. Send my stock ones of to be powdercoated for winter wheels....
I wouldn't moind the steering being a little more stiff...it's so touchy as it is, not that I mind that...but I love the way a beemer handles... |
