Default need quick help with 91 sl addco rear sway bar install

Let me start by saying that this is my first post on 3si but have used the website plenty for improvements to the car. I purchased the addco rear sway bar and am now installing it. basically I have both end links connected and they are pulled inward by the sway bar. also when I line up the sway bar for the bushings it is about an inch too far forward. I have no other aftermarket suspension parts except for the rear end links which are identical to the old ones. i have tried flipping the bar every which way but it just seems like its too short. Please help

I think I read someone say the car needs the rear suspension compressed to get that thing installed. Put some weight on the wheels.

I tried it that way the first time but it didn't work. I even tried putting extra weight in the trunk and I tried jacking by the frame. every which way it seems like they made the bends in the wrong place with made the arms longer but the overall length shorter. I have seen some others had a problem like this but no solution ever came from it. I contacted addco about a month ago with no response
