Ok I know castor is not adjustable.
So my castor is now left front 3.2 right front 4.9. I have replaced both front control arms with no change in castor. I have had a frame straightner look at it on the rack and the frame measures perfect. What happened that messed it up was an impact on a curb at about 5 mph during the winter on a snow and ice covered road. The curb hit the left front rim and bent it in about 1/2 inch. It was a skid and a side impact to the front left rim. The rims have been replaced. The hubs have been replaced. I am out of ideas on how to fix this. The car is a 95 VR4. I thought castor was adjustable, it has a lot to do with handling as well. When I took mine for an alignment the guy told me I had good castor and he wouldnt have to adjust that, when I asked him what it was.
Ok it can be adjusted! BUT, you have to bend things back with a hydraulic piston. So I'd say take it to a body repair shop they should be able to do that. Last edited by EvanH : 05-09-2008 at 02:11 AM. Reason: new info |

I did take it to a body shop and they said the frame was straight.
They claim nothing needs to be bent straight. Maybe I need a body shop that can also do wheel alignments. So they can see where the problem lies. I am quite sure it is where the lower front control arms mount with the bushings to the frame. That mount point must have shifted or bent a bit. But the body shop I went to would have no idea how far or which way to bend the mount points to bring the castor back in. |
