that's an odd way to bleed the system.

i've always been taught to bleed the brakes from the farthest caliper from the master cylinder to the closest.

oh well. as long as it works.

What you have been taught is correct when there is NO ABS. ABS makes things even MORE challenging.

BTW_ That air you have trapped may be in the ABS unit itself, and there may be special instructions somewhere about actuating the pump to get that air out. Sorry I dont have specifics, since I dont have it on my car to mess around with it.

Well that is a good idea, anyone know how to actually get the air out the ABS unit itself?

Thought of another idea I use on motorcycles-

Push the pistons back in after bleeding. This can force air bubbles back into the master cylinder where they can dissapate, while they sometimes can get "stuck" when pushing fluid through the normal direction.

yeah but if you push the piston back in with the bleeder valve closed you taking a risk of messing up the abs sensors

As already said, all the brake lines to the wheels come from the ABS unit in the front right which is why that corner is last one bled.

The other reason the order seems odd is because it is a dual circuit system. So the circuit with the furthest lines is bled first, then the circuit with the closest lines is bled last.

The ABS sensors are in the knuckle and wont be affected by pressing the pistons back in. ABS doesnt even work unless the car is moving over 15 mph anyway.
