Pokey,

I sanded my rims down and polished them immediately after purchasing my new 91 VR-4 from the dealership.

I took the car in for service as the rear wing was getting stuck in the up position. A Mitsubishi Rep was visiting the dealership. He came out to the service writer's desk and wanted to know where I purchased the wheels. After telling him what I had done, he asked if he could take pictures for the factory guys. He stated he was going to ask the factory to make the polished or plated wheels an option.

The chrome plated wheels were made as an option on later models. My 1995 VR-4 came stock with the chrome plated wheels.

Sorry I don't have pictures of the car. The car and pictures were destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. My point is it will add some bling IMO.

Marshall

I had my wheels sand blasted for $40.00 and then I put 4 coats of clear on them. I liked the way they turned out. I will try and upload some new photos.

I was thinking of doing this to my 94 non chrome wheels and painting them black.
