Default ECS/Tour-Sport mode.

Okay so I know that this has been brought up before and I probably wont be the last. I did a search and couldn't find the answer so here goes.

My tour/sport light flashes and people say to check the wires to ECS/struts to makes sure there not loose or rotted and they are connected. So I did this and they are all connected and in there and everything but yet the light still flashes. I checked the fuses and relay's I had them all replaced last month but I diddle daddle to make sure it wasn't the fuses or relays and the light still flashes.

Another thing is when I push the tour/sport button the car makes a sound like something is adjusting like the active aero, but my actice aero light is also on so I didn't think it work. It's a bumpy ride and I plan on replacing the struts next week but i don't know what kind to get. Hopefully by replacing the struts the tour/sport light will stop blinking.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Also what are some good riding struts the work with ECS on ours cars (92 VR4)

Any help is well appreciated.

Did you check the capacitors in the ESC computer? they me be leaking causing the problem. If you don't want to see the flashing just unplug the ECS and live with the hard mode.

I want the car to work properly for at least a day. I didn't check the capacitors I don't know where those would be located but I have thursday and half of friday off so I can check it myself I just need to know where they are.

Also another question is the ECS button suppose to light up when you push or is it kinda like the headlight button just push it?

Mine actually does the same thing. The servos on the shocks, in the rear it sounds like, tries to work occasionally, and my light blinks off and on. When it first started, I checked the top of all four shocks and found the fronts were both unplugged and the wires were dry rotted and had fallen apart. So, I replaced both hats and made sure everything was hooked up tight on all four shocks. Well, it still does it, the Sport mode light still flashes, randomly. The lights on my steering will also just blink on and off, just as randomly, I believe there is a sensor in the steering wheel for the ECS, could this be causing the problem or is most likely something else?

Go to my website, click on the Repair Section,, Engine Area,, Strut Wiring Repair if you haven't done a continuity test on the front actuators (wire loom and cap assembly) Odds are you have a broken wire. The struts rarely go bad. You are probably stuck in Sport mode if it's hard riding.
