Hmm. Well I guess I'll try it and see how it goes. If nothing else I'll do it for vanity and even tire wear, then.
The car sits up too high in the back with my current 0 to +something degree camber. ![]()

Got the car back on Friday, the guy said he was able to get perfectly -1.5 front and -1.0 rear with no toe. I can't believe how much more stable it feels on the road - turns when I want it to, doesn't track in the grooves as much, it's like a whole new car. I can't wait to autoX it ... t-minus three weeks!

If you guys get larger sway bars, you dont need as much of a spring to keep the car level in the turns. I have K-sports and the car is actually quite comfortable and with the saners, the body roll is almost insignificant. Out on the highway, I can do slaloms aroundslower traffic at triple digits and the car is perfectly controllable. It feels like a go-kart. These cars love alot of camber, but since I run it on the street, I have it set to -.5 in the front to counter the wear I get on the front edge of the tire and also to help them last a long time. I left the back at 0. I have to recommend that you guys who go for better pads up front, put the same compound in the back. Under hard braking and emergency maneuvers, the stock rear pads will lock up first which can cause the rear to swing around.

Bump for a good thread!
FYI Firestone has lifetime alignments for like $140 or so. I'm running K-sports with zero spring preload. Right now I've got a lot of sus. tuning to do, but I'll keep posting in this thread, if for no other reason then to record my findings lol Right now I'm running zero toe and camber everywhere. I'm trying to set some baseline with the first points event being this weekend. Even though I'm in SM with street tires, I'm hoping to be extremely competitive by the end of the season. Luckily the guy that won last year is an excellent racer, from what I've seen online, so I'll have good competition. Anyways, could everyone post their ride height and corner weights also? I measure from the ground to the bottom of the fender above the tire with me in the car (ok I don't measure, but a friend does it!) I'm trying to get a good weight balance, but I don't have scales, so heights are all I have to go by. Here's a pic from last weekend's test and tune ![]() -Doug |
