Default Another Steering pulling right problem

This is a long story, but I will keep it short.
After replacing my suspension with new struts and S-Tech springs, I put the car back together by eye, so the tracking was out. I drove the car for several thousand miles, gradually taking the outside edges of my front tyres off. The car went in a straight line with no pull. Because the front tyres were gone on the outside edge I decided to replace them, and have an alignment done. After the "alignment" the car was pulling to the right. It went back on the machine, and was within spec. Still pulling right. I decided to take the car to a specialist for a 4 wheel alignment. This was done, and the car was still pulling right. The specialist noted that the front steering rack was weeping on one side, and suggested that that was the problem. I replaced the steering rack, and had another very expensive alignment. Still pulling to the right. I flushed the power steering fluid. Still pulling to the right.
Brake caliper binding? I replaced all calipers and disks. Still pulling to the right.

So, the car has new brakes and struts and springs on the rear, and new everything on the front, including bushes and ball joints etc.

When driving, it feels like there is slightly less resistance to turning right, than turning left. (Left is slightly stiffer than right). But the wheel doesnt turn by itself with the front wheels off the ground and engine on.

I'm beginning to suspect that something is very wrong.

Anyone know what to do next or had this problem too?

Cheers,
Paul.

PS. There is nothing left to replace except the power steering pump, or maybe the front tyres are shit? I dunno. I hate this car.

Could you post a copy of your alignment printout? The 1st alignment you had when the pull started.

How's the bearings? Have an Avalanche that pulled one way, alignment wouldn't help. The bearings AND the housing holding the outer races were bad. Took a new front axle, etc. Moral of the story? Any bearing play?

Did you replace your tires? Sometimes after an alignment your tires are already worn that far down so they pull because of the previous alignment wear

i have the same problem, and i worked at brake check so i had access to free alignments, when ever i wanted. new everything just like him. same right pull just like him. and i dont have bearing play. and they were all repacked with good grease. the only other thing i can think of is placing the car on craigslist...

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I'll dig out the printout from the latest alignment tonight.
Both front, and one rear bearings are new 'ish, but I'll check them at the weekend. All the brakes are new. The tyres are all new, and the front ones were put on the car just before the first alignment (which was front only). Thats when the problems started. It feels like there is little or no power assistance when turning left, but plenty/enough assistance turning right. The wheels dont turn themselves in the air, though, so I dont know what to think.
The steering rack has been rebuilt, and one of the signal lines to the rear steer was replaced. I thought it might have air in the rear steer, but apparently it will bleed itself. (Boy did the suggestion that it wont cause a war! ). The power steering fluid level doesnt change with engine on or off, which would suggest no air in the system.

I have the OEM wheels with good'ish tyres on, so I might try going back to standard wheels, just to see if the problem changes or disappears.

Does anyone know if the front strut mounting swively things are handed? Coz I changed 'em for new ones, and didnt see any difference between them?

The 4 wheel alignment showed everything was within tolerance, except the rear camber, which wont cause a pull. And the centre line thrust angle was 0 degrees.

I'm wondering if the power steering pump is the problem? Anyone know if it has two output lines, or just one?

I really need to sort this, the car drives like a pissed dog!
I hate it!

Cheers,
Paul.

I reported that the tyres were making the car pull, and I wanted my money
back. Gave me some shit about a 10 week wait while he had the tyres inspected. Thats the last of my money he will ever see.

Go over his head and call the tyre company. I am sure they will be much more friendly to you.
