I had originally posted this in the Miscellaneous section, but after 3 days I didn't receive any replies. So I'm hoping someone here will be able to answer this...
Yesterday I noticed my Active Aero light come on my dash. The thing is, my car isn't equipped with Active Aero! Any ideas why this is happening? My only guess is that a few days earlier I was trying to adjust my headlight beams up and I may have bumped something in the process. Still, I don't see how a light for something you don't even have should be able to even come on in the first place - should be disabled.

You have an N/A and the AERO light came on?
That seems very weird! I didn't know N/A's even had that light. Well, my only guess is that you must have given power to a wire that shouldn't have power ... it's the only way to explain it.

I'm 100% positive I don't have Active Aero. There's no front lip that drops down and my spoiler is just the normal one - doesn't rise. I believe the instrument panel for all 3000GTs is the same. So the Active Aero light is there, but you shouldn't ever see it lit up on a car that doesn't even have Active Aero installed. Very weird indeed. |

I don't have Active Aero, ABS or ECS. Active Aero I don't care about. I've learned and have always have cars without ABS so I'm fine with that. And as far as ECS goes, I'm thankful I don't have it. I hear a lot of horror stories surrounding it. |

No, you don't have AA. Only VR4's had it, altho yeah you could have had ECS or ABS on an SL if it had been asked for. The center clusters always had all the lights for everything, though. Just some aren't used.
Most of those warning light circuits are turned on when the sensor end goes to ground. The oil, fuel, and brake warning lights for example work that way. So I'd guess that the AA light does too, altho I can't find the diagram for it yet. Check whatever wires you were in- there is almost certainly one that is hanging out and touching ground someplace. |
