Default 3000GT wheels on a Mustang

So I get an email about my car. The person saw that I had the Saleen wheels and asked this: Since the Mustang wheels fit on the 3000GT, would 3000GT wheels (stockers) fit on a Mustang?

I gave him this response:As far as I can tell, the wheels should be interchangeable. The main concern when fitting other wheels onto a 3000GT is clearing the brake caliper. I don't know if the same is true for Mustangs (I don't think it is). If that is true, then I don't see why 1st gen 3000GT (or Dodge stealth, for that matter) stock wheels wouldn't fit on a Mustang.

Does anyone have any specific knowledge to this?

Thanks.

Default Re: 3000GT wheels on a Mustang

iirc, mustangs have a larger center bore...70 something mm?

the 3kgt wheel's 67.1 center bore is too small.
