Default what could it be?

hey there i m new to this forum but was wondering if i could get some help. i have a mitsi gto 1992 awd dohc engine n/a auto and everytime i drive my car when i press speed at the lights the car makes a very loud exhaust noise and doesnt even move until 2500-3000rpm. and some times even misfires abit. can someone please help me out. i was thinking it could be the sparks? what other things could it be?

NewBees don't know much about the GTO huh? All GTOs are AWD, even the non turbo ones.

Sounds like maybe your transmission is messed up and is taking off in 2nd gear? HAve you tried putting your stick down to first gear at the light and turn off "OD" button and then see if it takes off at 1000 rpm..

lol, if i used my time to studied cars that well most likely never be seen at least consistant in the u.s. then of course i'll know. but i don't. i only know of the one everyone else does. the regular awd vr4/gto etc... never heard of an n/a gto before though.

hey there yea my o/d was giving me problems before aswell it could be that.m planning to not use the gto for a lil while and save up some cash and get a t/t manual conversion. does anyone know how hard this would be? and what would be involved as in doin a auto to manual?

heya yea i think most if not all gto's which were intended to be sent to other places such as nz australia and mybe even in japan are awd its fun driving it here but hard to find many people on the road with it
