So I ended up getting an eBay "brand" VR4 full exhaust with stainless downpipes, test pipe, to a 3" single split to twin 2" with cannons. I'll probably end up replacing the mufflers with quality name brand mufflers, and eventually I'll probably add a 3" glasspack. The downpipes on the SL's are stupid easy to access, now looking underneath the car I realize the simplicity of the exhaust. So I'm planning on buying different flanges and modifying the included VR4 stainless downpipe to fit my SL.

I am super anxious to get my bolt-ons done so I can get a baseline dyno to see where I can improve.

Currently the best system out there there producing power is 3SX's complete system.
Yes it is expensive. But if you can not afford that system. At least start with there headers. If you are looking for power on an NA. It will only come from a well engineered set of long tube headers. What make you think a VR4 down pipe will do anything. I will not even bolt up. The cat back system you got looks nice. But feed it with long tubes next shopping spree out. LOL. Have heard those pipes before. Nice choice.

I figure a custom fabricated downpipe (using the eBay one as a "skeleton") would just be an upgrade simply because it replaces the mass produced factory one, all around better visually even though its not going to give me 800+hp boost. I really did like the look of the exhaust, it fits the mufflers in nicely and from the research I did via the interwebz and YouTube sound clips it seems to be alright. Like I mentioned before, I'll probably end up getting quality mufflers if it becomes too obnoxious.

Almost every N/A engine I've witnessed putting reasonable power down at the wheels has had long tubes, I'll probably go that route sooner than later. I'm currently rebuilding my Accord Auto-X car completely Bisimoto everything, so that will take priority over the 3000GT as far as performance goes ONLY for the time being until it is tuned and drivable.

There is nothing to "tune" on these cars. The exhaust is adequate for most horsepower until you get into GTWizards rear view mirror. (His car IS fast! I was behind it for a little while on the track!) Spend your money on tubing when you start doing intake/head/cam work.

I meant, the 3000GT will see not major "performance enhancements" until my HONDA is tuned, maybe I said that goofy.

I got my exhaust tonight and got right into installing it. Man the OEM exhaust is heavier than all hell, not to mention bulky. The new exhaust fit perfectly and with the exception of the 3" V-Band clamp breaking the install was fairly easy. With the silencers still it I was still able to feel (or maybe my excitement/butt dyno) some more low end torque, with some definite additional power throughout the power band. I'll be removing the silencers tomorrow morning to see what it does then.

Man do these things sound gorgeous..

Yessir! Here's a picture of the rear after I got the silencers out. I literally took a piece of 3/8" mild rod and bent it in a "9" shape and then welded the bottom of the "9" to each silencer to get them out, what an overly complicated simple task. Man does this thing sound nice though.

I literally washed the stupid thing the day I shot the video, driving to get food and back caked it in salt. So, I apologize for that. Here's a clip, its FAR less raspy when actually being driven. I love the sound of it and I'm very anxious to see if the downpipe will make an audible difference.

Very nice. What did you get for numbers?

The topic still rests (and now with input), legitimate dual exhaust from each bank.
