Default Replacing Valve stem seals and lifters...

Wondering if anyone would happen to know if replacing my valve stem seals and lifters to the 3mm would increase my performance/gas mileage at all? I know I need to replace the seals as Im starting to burn oil bad but for 100$ would the lifters just take away the knocking?

Those are maintenance items, not performance items. Won't see any performance gain with either, doubt you'll see any mileage increase with them either.

While Eric is right about them being maintenance items, there will be at least a slight theoretical "performance" gain when the valves open correctly and extra oil isnt in the combustion chambers.

The best part is you will be a lot cooler when your car isnt clicking away and leaving a cloud at each stoplight.
