Everything went together no problem. I've got pictures somewhere, jut not here at work.

so even if you use vr4 brake calipers on the back, you use the n/a brake lines for them as well?

AND ALL I DID WAS INSTALL MY CUSTOM BRACKET!!! no more front-end-part swapping.
you can get the kit for $180 and install it in no time.
check out the kit on my website under the products section: www.electronicauto.com

Is your bracket been crash tested and DOT approved? When it comes to brakes, Im not putting some random bracket on my car that hasn't gone through a very thorough trial, error and extreme testing.

What do you mean 'crash tested'? I don't normally crash my car during testing!
If you crash, then yes, you might break something!
This random bracket has been on my wife's SL for over two months, and has undergone the rigorous driving style of both of us. I have put it through repeated high-speed stops, as well as Atlanta's stop and go traffic daily. It's my wife's car, and I trust the brackets. Even so they've been sitting on the shelf for two months to allow thorough testing.
That said, I give no warranty because this is an aftermarket racing product. How many brake upgrades do you think ARE approved by the DOT? LOL!!!
Re: Question about NA to 1st gen TT front brakes...
Wait so let me get this straight. With those brackets you can mount VR-4 calipers to the stock SL rotors? Or do you also need to get the rotors. Do the stock 2G rotors bolt on to our hubs?

you need the 2G rotors, or a 2-piece rotor setup (recommended). I wouldn't recommend upgrading your calipers and still using those tiny rotors
the bracket is *designed* for a 12.19" diameter, 1.25" thick 2-piece rotor/hat kit. I will be selling the hats, and probably the rotors, as soon as my fabricator for the hats makes them. The hats will be $125 each, and you can get the rings from a variety of places for a variety of prices - I bought Wilwood HD rings from a local race shop for $60 each. The ultralite rings were $45 each! You can use any brand that is the right size and bolt pattern.
stock 2G TT rotor is 12.36" diameter, 1.18" thick. It should fit, but it will be a very tight fit for the diameter.
On the 1998 SL hubs we have been using Electronic Auto hats (prototypes) with Wilwood ultralite, and heavy-duty, curved-vane rotor rings. The hats are designed for a 2G TT car, and they fit fine. I did install a stock 2G TT rotor to make sure it fits, and there is very little clearance.

you save a few pounds each over stock
they handle the heat much better because of the curved vanes
they don't warp as easy
they look cooler if you have open wheels (check out the pic on my website)
once you got over the inital cost, you would save money in the long run on replacement costs
I paid a lot more for my hats a couple of years back, and I paid a lot more for the first pair of rings I bought because I didn't know any better. Despite the fact that the hats I bought (from someone on this board) were of flawed design, I'm still glad I did because the wilwood rotors are simply better than stock. I don't really get brake fade at my skill level on a road course in the VR4 with this setup.
