Electrical switch installed and the no-start issue with the key is GONE. Something to be happy about. Happy dance.

It wasn't a fun job. To be sure it wasn't the alarm relay or any alarm component before I spliced in the new switch I tested it. Works as it should with or without the alarm attached. Carefully removing the splices/taps etc.. was no fun.

I was just about to put all the stuff back together but as the sun was going down I started getting attacked by multiple sand/horse flies (garage open) so I quit. Fun fun.

Ksports - This is the first time I have had a chance to really feel the Ksports in action all over town and interstate and I really have to say it makes me very uncomfortable and most especially in neighborhoods and parking lots. Its ridiculous. I feel like I'm riding on a steel platter. There is almost zero absorption of bumps. It is very clear to me now that my agenda for wanting a "daily driver" is quite different than wanting a car for "racing" at the drags or wherever. I did so much research on the Ksports too before getting them and everyone said how great they were, but I believe now my error was that everyone was beefing up for racing. In a daily driver I don't need headaches and stomach aches from being jostled around like a bean in a plate. LOL - Its just a little ridiculous. I MIGHT get used to them..... MIGHT - going to see how it goes for a lil more driving, but currently I'm thinking I will ultimately switch back to stockers.

A/C - While driving its been good. At idle the a/c rumbles the vehicle. I am wondering if I have the belt too tight. Not sure though. I just think its time for the compressor to go. That cleaning and oiling up of the a/c clutch I did seemed to help it a lot for running without getting stuck so that might hopefully buy me summer usage out of it before having to do anything with it again.
So at idle, your rpms don't rise when you turn on the AC? If not, then that is most likely your rumble problem. The rpms are supposed to rise to when the AC is turned on at idle. I don't remember exactly for the 3S, but it should probably be a 300-400 rpm increase.

Did you try adjusting the softness/hardness on the Ksports? Do you have any preload on the springs? I've yet to drive my car with the Ksports...

At idle rpms DO rise to about 900-950 rpms steady when a/c on.

No preload at all. Already at softest dampening.

Question Re: ProwlerGT's 3000GT Revival Thread - Start Up

Took the car for another cruise tonight.

Brakes - As soon as I got back I used the IR laser thermometer to temp read the brake rotors. I'm not so much concerned about the temps themselves as I am the difference in temperature. The Front pass rotor is running about 20 degrees hotter than the front driver side one and conversely the rear driver is running about 20 degrees hotter than the rear pass. I can still hear the pad scraping outside the car too. Was hoping I could avoid dealing with the brakes again or that it would self correct over time, but I can swear at times the car is pulling hard one way or the other and I think its more than the usual car self-steer when hitting substandard pavement or uneven rock/dirt roads.

Electrical ignition switch - Its finished and no more "no starts" when turning the key. Also gonna get a new key made off of my spare cause it works better than the primary key.

As if the car has its own demon I do believe the alternator I put in when I started all this stuff almost 3 years ago is going bad. I haven't tested it yet, but the voltage meter drops quite a bit every time the blinkers blink which I think is a sign the alt is going bad or is bad. If this is the case it could have a lot to do with the lack of power "I think" I'm still feeling but at this point am completely unsure of cause its just been so long and too much stuff.

Oil Pressure gauge - Does anyone know how to interpret the stock oil pressure gauge. IE: Do you know what numbers the hash marks represent? What are you running for oil pressure at idle in an NA DOHC?

A friend tells me that blinker on and volt gauge moving thing is common in our cars so thats a huge relief. Gonna test the alt anyway, but just as a precaution.

Ya, the voltage gauge in the dash is not very accurate, and will swing wildly when a turn signal is on.

The only way I saw that i had voltage problems was on a track run that I datalogged, at high RPMs my battery voltage dropped down to ~10.2 volts or so.

Yeah, I was just gonna ask about that (datalogging and reliability of the volts reported) cause I have those logs either on this page or the previous one that I'm waiting on Highboosted to look at and it was consistently at 14.4 and sometimes slipped to 14 or 13.9, but never below that.

I'm gonna post the logs again in txt form, but all you have to do to view a csv file if you don't have a viewer for it is rename the .csv extension to .txt and it'll come right up after you rename it and click on it. Just would like someone to confirm that the logs look good. They are not very long.

Question Re: ProwlerGT's 3000GT Revival Thread - Start Up

Also, those pics of the IK24's a few pages back... can someone confirm for me that those plugs are NOT fouled and that I can just clean them and sell'em or reuse'm whenever I am making more horsepower. Again I only used them for 1000 miles.

Question Re: ProwlerGT's 3000GT Revival Thread - Start Up

Struggling on 1st startup: After overnight 1st startup takes longer to fire

BTW - When I was putting the electrical switch back in on the left side of the steering column I noticed that even though you use that lil screw to hold the switch in that its a very delicate setup. The screw housing nearly stripped. You shouldn't apply much force at all when turning it in. I also noticed that there is some "play" in the housing where the switch fits into even after you've screwed the screw in. I came up with the idea to wedge something in the sides of it where there was space so that it would help keep it from moving. The PERFECT FIT is those lil plastic toothpick wedges!!!!! lol - I cut the bottom-handle ends off of 2 of them and pushed/wedged them into 2 spots where there was space using a flat head screwdriver flat side end and my fingers for control as I pushed them inward as hard as I could without hurting myself. Now the electrical switch doesn't wiggle in its housing seat at all and hopefully those wedges will stay in there over time.

Exclamation Re: ProwlerGT's 3000GT Revival Thread - Start Up

1. I had a new friend come visit (1st meeting) yesterday (Blue3kgtSL) and I drove his 91 SL ATX which is a BEEEEAUTIFUL metallic blue and I'm convinced now that my engine is making good power. I guess I remembered my engine making more, but that was when I used to drive it all the time as opposed to nothing else. I guess one could call it a MINI-MEET ! lol I had him drive mine too and feel the Ksports which he didn't quite like either.

2. Most auto door lock problems regarding the door lock pushing back into locked position on its own demonic terms are linked to this:
My Locks Are Messed Up
Other strange behavior with the door locks probably are linked to the same.

3. Looking into keyless entry by adding a STOCK keyless module.
To add STOCK keyless entry - Connector there?
I basically wanna know if the connector/harness is there waiting for me without pulling the quarter panel since my car never came with Keyless.

4. Since the converter and frontpipe have to be removed to do the steering rack I'm contemplating upgrading to a Random Tech Converter:
Mitsubishi
I don't have any other exhaust mods so it'll be interesting to see if this makes any noticeable difference.
