So guess what. You can pretty much forget about my previous post.

WHY: Misprint in manual; tests are reversed for Pin#s; Pin 1 is ground test; Pin 2 is volt test for coolant temp sensor and this is at least confirmed in my 1995 Hybrid year NA 3000GT

Pin 2 to Ground while IGNITION key to ON yields proper voltage of 4.73v
Pin 1 to Ground while IG key to OFF yields a ohm reading of .03k ohm

I've confirmed and reconfirmed this as I was confused before obviously or I was actually getting the wrong result data back due to some more wiring problems I have since found.

The TPS and Oil pressure sending unit wiring harnesses both had exposed wiring and on the TPS it was the ground wire that was exposed. The OIL p.s.u. had all 3 wires exposed at the bend and apparently the Oil p.s.u. caught on fire at one point damaging the connector big time (black; charred, and the plastic turned to something like putty).

I met my wits end yet again and this is all I was able to do while I was back home was track down and repair these wiring issues which I noticed as I was electrical testing the MFI components as per the manual. I'm making a list of components to test with an analog and digital multimeter and later on I'll post it here in an Excel spreadsheet. This should prove useful for those inclined and with the patience to do electrical tests when they are having these kinds of problems.

Unfortunately, when I press the brakes after the car has idled up to operating temp the idle still changes dramatically as described here: IAC ohms good, but could it be bad? - even though I know my IAC to be GOOD. I'm still sticking to my theory that the brake booster is busted and allowing too much air (or an air variant too great) into the intake when I press the brake pedal. The first thing I'm going to do when I get home is bite the bullet on the note of the brake booster remove/replace and just get it over with and then see if the idle still changes when I press the brake pedal down and if it doesn't then I'll know I found my culprit and I believe I will have uncovered something NEW that I've never seen described anywhere on 3SI before or anywhere else for that matter.

The car was at high idle when I last parked and covered it up and didn't stall when I put it into gear, but I don't think this means anything at this point because I did adjust the TPS per the manual during testing and I do have the BISS still backed out in order to be able to move the car in and out of the garage so the first thing I'll do after I put the new booster in is first check to see if that idle changing at the push of the pedal and then reset the Base Idle yet again and see if everything holds. After that there is little left to try aside from a new throttle body, new IAC again, and swapping the ECU, but so far due to my electrical testing: ECU Electrical Test Results I need help with - the ECU appears to be functioning normally.

So is this car on the road yet!? How's that new suspension treating you? Is this the suspension you have? http://supercar-engineering.com/sc2/...roducts_id=195 My car is in the garage right now, so far I've put the new solid rear motor mount in, rebuilt heads are on, and I'm doing my oil pump and new timing belt tomorrow.

Should be running by Wednesday night. I'm psyched!

Awesome to hear about your car.

Mine still isn't on the road. I am now up North living with my girlfriend likely for a couple years until I return to the South (either LA or FL). My car sits with the battery cable pulled off the terminal at my mom and dad's house in their driveway. Got a nice $60 cover on it. I had built up hope to have it done to drive while down there for Mardi Gras, but then I found those wiring problems and that the brake booster is in fact bad so it was a no go and I really didn't want to spend all of my visitation time there working on the car. I was also sick the whole time there, so that didn't help things much either.

I will finish the car and bring it up here eventually (if I stay here and me and my gf don't break up; things are going well right now for that though), but at this point I cannot say when that will be though I am hoping for late Spring early Summer. If things with my gf don't work out though I'll be going home sooner than that and again living back in the New Orleans area (Laplace).

Having built hope and then to be let down with more problems I really am not too upset or rushed anymore about getting it finished asap. As my Dad has said, "You have to move on and -do something-." and that has never been the case as much as it is right now. I have to see if I can sink or swim with my new business ideas and/or get a new job and the car while was my #1 priority and mental goal to achieve before pursuing my own first time new business ideas I just can't afford to wait anymore. The reason the car was put as #1 priority was a mental "taking back time for me thing" if you will for all the years I have served the corporate world while it robbed me of life and time to do the things I love and want to do such as repairing and enhancing my car. Getting the car back on the road was and still will be a symbol of a new era in my life, but it much like this new era will just remain an ongoing project.

I'm gonna post some pics up of things I found where I last left off. Where I last left off basically is what I've been discussing in the past pages #19 up to this one in the thread.

Have left:
Brake Booster - See if this resolves brake pedal and idle issue

Idle issue - if brake booster doesn't fix (must be vac leak, throttle body, or ECU even though ECU is checking out to be running properly from electrical testing).

A/C - The A/C system much like the brake system did will undergo nearly a full overhaul. As this car will not be a race car, but one I want in tip top driving shape I must have my A/C because even in Central Illinois in the summer the temps get high like they do in South LA except without the humidity.

Recently repaired before I left:
Wiring harnesses which were causing ground faults and electrical arcing.

Interesting that I'm posting EXACTLY 1 month later. LOL

I will be HOME May 20th - June 9th or thereabouts to FINISH my car one way or another. This includes by my own hands, a friends, and going to the SHOP if need be. I am not going to give the idle problem much more of my time after I replace the brake booster, do a vac test, and reset idle AGAIN. I have parts and the know how to troubleshoot further but in the best interest of time and wanting to just drive the damn thing after waiting nearly 2 years I'm done with the pursuit of DIY to save some money. My time has certainly been sacrificed where it could've been in and out of the shop in less than a week and FIXED.

i'll hopefully be moving to New Orleans in August (contigent upon i get accepted to this program). i'd like to think i'm experienced with these cars, having tinkered, repaired, and uprgraded NAs and TTs for the past few years. if anyone needs any help, i'm more than happy.

also, how many active 3S ppl are there in the LA area?

akaik, only me and rolland. rburnett was, but i think he sold his sohc. there are like 12-15 in my area down here, 60mi south of NO, but none active in the community. mostly old women from what ive seen. one teenage chick that goes to my school with a early model stealth, but shes a bitch, and she ruined the side of it by getting into an accident. its a base model i think. the principal at my old elementary school has a red 99 base, and another teacher has a white sl. thats about it...

oh yea, someone else has a 97-98 base the exact same color as mine, it was odd, like staring into a mirror when we passed.

Unhappy Re: ProwlerGT's 3000GT Revival Thread - Start Up

To everyone watching. Unfortunately I won't be going to the NG07 unless by some miracle I replace my steering rack, get the a/c system fully repaired and recharged, brakes fixed, and car shutting off at IDLE operating temperature fixed first. With only 7 days left till NG I doubt all that is going to happen.

So basically this means I'm at the same status where I was in the last few posts. Haven't moved on anything, but I have moved back to New Orleans, LA area again for the time being. Many other projects around mom/dad's house have been keeping me busy, but soon enough I will get this car back on the road and finally get to feel the f'in Ksports I installed some 6 months or more ago !!!! At least now I've got her moved back into the garage for repairs to begin again shortly.

Tabasco or Linebacker - ya'll going to NG07? Linebacker moving to New Orleans?
