Seafoam: Great stuff, however I would wait till the engine is running well to do it. When i did my engine I bought 2 bottles for the engine.. one for the fuel tank, and the second one goes half in the oil filler hole, the other half i sucked into the plenum via the vacuum lines, also if you can get the spray seafoam you can spray throughout the intake system through the throttle body. With half a bottle in the oil system, its gonna smoke like a scene from Spy Hunter, 1988 nintendo style for about 10 minutes. I immediately changed my oil and filter afterwards, because the seafoam loosened all that gunk from the engine, and i wanted it all out, instead of recycling through the engine again.
Other than that, prime the oil system, close your eyes, pump the gas pedal, and hope for the best as you turn the key? Whatever don't work, you should be able to fix :P

Shout out to sexybluelady and scolex - Been a while. Yeah, I'm back.
![]() scolex - You think that running the seafoam in the engine oil just in park in the driveway was enough? I'd heard you were supposed to give it like 50 to 100 miles and then drain it. LOL - My auto mechanic cabinet looks like a Seafoam distribution center cause every time I went to the auto store I'd think about doing it and forget how many cans I had on hand so I'd buy a couple more. lol - I have the Trans Tune one for the tranny too btw. I love the reference to the 1988 Spy Hunter. I loved/love that game. There used to be a Flash link to play it online through the creator's web site. {pause} Ok found it: http://www.midway.com/page/ClassicGames.html - If you scroll down you can play it. LOL Update on today: I reinstalled my charged up battery after much other mess that happened today getting in the way. When I hooked up the negative cable to the battery it didn't even let off a tiny bit of spark. Opened the car door and no lights on, so the sucker was still just dead. Brought it over to Advance Auto for warranty exchange and luckily I didn't have to pay a dime. Their machine said it was just completely flat out dead and wouldn't hold a charge at all. LOL - I left out the fact that it was sitting for 10 months. Run out of time and juice today so I'm going to install it this morning and see how she cranks. I had to fight off two other wasp nests while I was installing and removing the battery. There must've been over 20+ wasps that came out from the crack at the front of the passenger door when I RAID canned the car under the wheel wells, bumpers, and crevices. I'm attaching a couple pics. LOL ![]() ![]()

hehe, nice, at least they have (had?) taste... and i drove the car around for about 20 minutes with the sea foam, horsing it around, giving it a good romp like i don't usually do, thats what made me refer to the spy hunter, i drove down my street, and when i was about 1/2 a mile away you could still see the thick white smoke all the way down... its crazy, good enough for film IMO... next time i do it ill throw some pics on here with a reference to Spy Hunter, hehe

Well this has been utter bullshit. It has rained 2 days straight and I don't fancy fooling with the electric cables while its raining. Seems there has been nothing but rainy days every day of July and before that ever since Katrina it has been bone dry and we were in "extreme drought" "burn ban" conditions. I swear... with this rain its not even that hot at midday to try and start her up in somewhat warm conditions. I may catch a break in the rain tomorrow. Ugg.

HIP HIP HOORRAY ! SHE LIVES !
ABOUT 20 MINUTES AGO I STARTED HER UP A COUPLE TIMES AND QUICKLY TURNED IT OFF AND THEN ON THE 3RD STARTUP I LET IT CRANK AND STAY RUNNING. WENT BACK AND FORTH IN THE DRIVEWAY A COUPLE TIMES TO SCRAP SOME RUST OFF THE ROTORS AND THEN AROUND THE BLOCK !!!! WHEWW HOOOOOO EEEE ! SURE FELT GOOD..... JUST THAT LIL BIT IN THE 3000 AS OPPOSED TO THE VAN FOR 10 MONTHS IS A DREAM. The rain finally let up today around noon so after work was over I took advantage of the twilight hour and put the battery in. So next time I do anything with it will probably be this weekend. I remembered I have to add fixing my windshield washer pump to the list of maintenance as I was driving and it didn't work. lol - I am one happy 3Ser. I was surprised. I didn't even hear a bit of lifter tick or knock.Last edited by ProwlerGT : 11-29-2006 at 06:01 AM. |

No no no..... you were right earlier in the thread. I already have the part. LOL - I had to get the whole pump (Rockville) cause the nipple for the hose had come off. I'd tried to reglue it before, but its tedious and came off again so I just ordered the new one. I just have to figure out what friggin box its in.
