Default NEED ANYONES ADVIVE... jumped time on my n/a

So I was driving home after getting my car profesionally detailed and i was sitting at a stoplight and she stahled out. I tried to start it up and it wouldnt so i pushed it to the side of the road and opened the hood. It was smoking from the drivers side and smelled like burnt rubber. I felt the timing belt cover and it was hot so i was worried. I got out my tool set, took off the timing belt cover and saw the timing belt was still on, but i looked in there and all the teeth were stripped off. I got it towed to a mechanic and the tensoiner pully gave out and it also jumped time.
He put a new timing belt, water pump, and the pullies on and started it up and it ran!!!! but he listened to it and 1st and 4th gear were missing he said. so the valves did get f***ed.
now for your advive...
This mechanic seems pretty honest and familiar with 3000gt/stealths.
1. he said he could rebuild whats broken and hopefully have it fixed for 1900
2. I could try to do this myself(althought i'm not very mechanically inclined) and just look on the forum on how to do it
3. Maybe have someone off 3si come help me with it
4. Buy a completely different engine and swap them
5. part her out(i would have a VERY difficult time doing this one, unless it was the best option)

I have a 93 3000gt base with 115k on it

ANY opinions and advice would be appriciated.
thanks guys
-Kyle

were you from, i had to replace all 24 valves and it cost me $800 to bore my heads a little and place new valves in them. as for putting the engine back together you are better off doing it yourself. i had a mechanic try to charge me $600 just got it to sit in his yard for almost a half a year and he claim to work on it, but thats another story. just get the heads machined and valves replaced and learn to work on your car.

ok so you bored it out and replaced all the valves on your own? was it hard to do or just time consuming? also is there a post about how to do this?
thanks

Sheesh, just pull the heads and replace the bent valves.

If it was a good running engine before it will be again.
