My Speedometer and Odometer Just Stopped Working - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

i have a 92 sl and for the last couple months my speedo needle has been bouncing around abit about a 3mph bounce all the time, finally today it just stopped working. To me this sounds like the cable because of the bouncing but could it be the actual gear assembly?

Check the wiring at the tranny. You dont have a cable. You could just need a new speed sensor.

They are not cable driven. They are electric. Other than that, I can't help you.

2nd gens are electronic first gens are cable driven.

My bad, Sorry about the incorrect info. I would pull each end of the cable to see if the key is striped.

isn't there a speed sensor plugged into the top of the tranny? should be super close to your slave cylinder if your car is manual. i do believe it just screws in

how do i remove the speedo cable from the firewall? i removed the cluster and it doesnt look like anything is holding it in, and if i pull it from the firewall side it compresses that spring and thats it.
