Default My SOHC acceleration and exhaust video

Now I finally have a couple decent clips to share of my sohc. (All the sohc guys come to non turbo forum so thats why its here and not a/v)
I wanted to get a dead stop - a 0 to 60 run - but it was so much easier just getting on the highway entrance not having to worry about finding a good spot.
Anyway, my mods are just performance/summer kumho tires and a custom cat back straight through 2.5" exhaust.

I know it is not fast, however significantly faster than sohc atx and it'd be very close racing a stock or slightly bpu atx DOHC. w00t for atx!? If I were fully BPU I could hang with a stock dohc mtx.
First and second gear pull well, only if it had the same torque and power when I hit third gear. It feels ballsy but the shift from 2nd to third just sucks! The toprange sucks, midrange feels much more torquey (~3k)

Exhaust clip is right after a wash..... revving to about 5k

I'm still in college, future plans? I'm going to order a 3sx test pipe (when the page works!), and an ebay intake because $150 for the k&n filter does not justify 1hp to the wheels. Need a 3sx alum. pulley. Then, once I get a real job and such, I will either build the motor up and slap a 75 wet on there. OR just get something else and keep it as a DD (such as a evo, sti, s2000, wrx, 350z, camaro ss, etc. I LOVE EVOS.) As far as looks goes she looks sexy as hell, its been referred to as a ferrari before, haha (lots of people are oblivious to types of cars). Tint and 1" drop will make her look PERFECT. Possibly black out tails

So I got an acceleration vid as well.

Its semi shakey but it gets the point across. It shows what my exhaust sounds like too.

Not bad. I have a 98 sohc 3000gt and was wondering how to tell if it is atx or mtx? Also I'm going to be upgrading my car. Would it be better getting these headers: 3SX NA LONG Headers Set*-*Mitsubishi 3000GT*/*Dodge Stealth or buying a downpipe? Or both?

Thanks.

ATX = automatic transaxle
MTX = manual transaxle

You cant get both the headers and downpipe. Youd have to do one or the other.

Also I didnt mention but the reason for the big drop off at the end is I am still lacking 4th gear so that was a 3-5 shift.

^^ What he said.

P.S. -s5pitfire, sorry to hear about your car man. Hope everything turns out in your favor. PM me if you need a new corner light (that is, assuming you are going to keep and fix the car). I have both stock amber lights, and don't need them anymore as I just put on some clears.

Nice videos btw as well; now I can't wait to get my exhaust on.

Thanks man
Nothing turned out in my favor unfortunately. He has no insurance, so i'll have to sue him to get any $ out of him. Civil court lawsuit, lots of work, time, effort. I guess he does lose his license and has to pay a ticket for no insurance. And his giant truck is damaged (bottom of door and front fender is bend inward ~6")
I hope he rots in hell?
I think the WHOLE deal will be under $2k though. Not TOO bad. Alrdy ordered new turn signal, bumper cover, and bidding on 2 headlights that are not faded at all. Only $600 in part so far (including lights) so its not too bad. Taking it to the frame shop next week b/c its SLIGHTLY bent out of shape. The strut towers are a little tweaked....

As far as your video stealthee, seems very close to mine, hard to tell because you know. Sounds good tho
