I'm pretty sure you are in the same boat I am in man. A new short block from the dealer is about $2500, which you will have to get to fix your car, unless you didn't fuck her up too bad and the bearings are the only things that went. Another alternative is to drop in a vr4 engine, or N/A engine. You can get a vr4 engine for under 2 grand used, but you have to be careful because you don't know what the previous owners did to the engine, or how badly it could have been abused. An N/a will be around $1000. Another alternative is to part out the car, or sell it as is. These are your options....

ok heres the deal, you spun a bearing, depending on how bad it is, you wont know until you start pulling things apart, your prob gonna wanna get a new engine, it happend to me, dont rebuild, i got a motor from jasper, they have a great company, i highly recomend it. A full motor from them costs around 3 grand, and then youll have to get the installation kit which is like a 200 bucks, i know its expensive, but then you get a 3 year 65000 warrenty on parts and labor. Most places wont cover labor, and these motors come with 0 miles(there rebuilt, but to the highest of qualitly) check out the website, research and call them, there a great bunch of ppl, they answer any questions you have. Best of luck to you man.

Rebuilding would cost almost as much if not more depending on where you get it done due to labor. Not only that, but depending on where you get your motor from its as good if not better than factory(ok not better but u get where im going with that). Not only that, but if you rebuild your motor you might not get a warrenty, and if they do offer a warrenty it wont be as good as lets say jasper, or other replacment motor companys, and if they do, will they also cover the cost of labor? probably not, but maybe. Ok let me retract my statement of "dont rebuild" If thats the route you wanna take, go for it, im sure if you get it done by a creditable rebuilder you should be fine, ive just heard of people suffering from problems from there rebuilt motor, alot of them experienced the same problems that caused the rebuild in the first place, thats why i stayed away from it.

Get a japanese engine. My brothers car spun a bearing and we got a low mileage motor for 900 dollars shipped.

www.unitextrading.com is where we bought the motor from.

It should be another 800-1200 to get it installed.

We did the whole motors swap on his car in about two weeks.
