Default Head Gasket?

So i've been losing coolant since ive owned my dodge stealth es. but lately ive noticed ive had to fill it ALOT more often like once every 2 or three days. and when i took a closer look under the hood i noticed oil and coolant on my tranny and a "river" of fluid coming from beneath the plenum and like right on top of the engine. ive been leaking coolant like crazy but my oil stays about the same even though oil AND coolant keeps showing up on the tranny. do u think this is the head gasket or something else. btw im not really all that engine literal thanks for any help. =D

well is there any oil in the coolant? or coolant in the oil? i would assume from experience that the oil is prolly leaking from valve cover gaskets or cam end seals onto tranny. and try to look and see where the coolant is coming from because there is a coolant tube running between the two cylinder heads and may b leaking from there or one of the o rings at either end. not to mention the coolant hoses running right over top of tranny to throttle body. there is a possability of a bad head gasket but wen the blow u usually kno it by oil and coolant mixing or tons of white smoke out the exhaust.

it doesnt seem to be coming from the hoses deirectly above the tranny. its coming from like inbetween the two sets of 3 cylinders if i know wat i mean. and i do seem to leak a bit of oil out of the valve cover (if thats the thing that is right near where the front plugs are).... and i dont know if i mentioned. its DOHC. i hope your right cause that will be horrid if i have to replace the head gasket.

Check your hoses and replace your filler neck cap. Coolant could just be spraying everywhere under pressure. This doesn't sound like a head gasket issue but there are some things you can do to rule it out. Do you have white exhaust all the time? Do you smell a sweet smell like your burning coolant? Are there bubbles in your oil? Does your oil level increase at all? Do you see oil in your coolant? And finally, do a simple compression test... that will tell you.

ok i dont think its pressure... i know its coming from the engine itself.... i can see where it ran from... i smell coolant burning but i think its from the heat of the engine and the coolant on it.. my oil level goes down very slowly.... coolant goes down quick.... no oil in the coolant no coolant in the oil....no white smoke... i know a mechanic and he said it could be a leak from the "aluminum tube" that carrys coolant from one side of the engine to the other. the one you can barely see due to the plenum in the way it runs horizontal it ur looking at the car straght on....

You might be right about that... I know the piece your talking about. Either way I would bet money you don't have a blown head gasket. I don't think coolant get's all over the engine when it's blown.

what kind of car is yours? Base, ES, RT, TT, SL? I just had a mystery coolant leak puddled up on my tranny down below the slave. Turned out to be the turbo coolant line beside the one heater core line. But you say oil too? I know my trans has some grime to it even though its newer.

check your oil for a milky substance just incase. And when you re-fill your radiator, check to see if theres oil in the rad.

it could be an O-ring gone on the water neck from the waterpump, to the neck. Or it could be a gasket that is just gone shitty?
