I think there may be instructions to gut your cat somewhere. I know there are for the pre-cats. You'll just have to look around. Good luck.

well when i gutted mine i just used a hammer and a pry bar it took a little but but it worked lol

If you're going to gut your main cat I'd think twice about that in California. With a gutted main cat, you're more than likely going to fail the tailpipe emissions test.
